Must see documentaries..

Watching the BBC documentaries about the 7/7 London tube and bus bombings in 2005.

Gripping from start to finish. Heartbreaking stories from the bereaved. The thing that really struck me was the people who were doing their jobs. The police officers, the firefighters etc.

The poor things who had to recover the bodies, often in bits. The sense of responsibility and duty was huge. They were so driven to give those who died their dignity. Excellent, incredible people. They saw the worst brutality but completed the job they were given.

I have no idea if these people were ever formally honoured but by god, they were heroes. The absolute best of us.

Must watch.

Love a good documentary and hand on heart, that is as good as any .

Just watched episode 3 of that 7/7 documentary. That senseless Killing of Menezes was outrageous. They had plenty of time to stop him before it got to that stage.
Did he stop when he was challenged?

That was a very highly charged situation and fear gripped the nation. Sad but if they hadn't stopped him..... what then could have happened?

Well with him, nothing.

From what I have read he wasn’t challenged. They got on the train, restrained him and shot him 7 times in the head. £100k to his family for a life. Shocking.

nobody knew that at that time - we weren't there. Thet did not know that he was not going to detonate explosives at that very second. I understood they chased him... he should not have run away.

Openly lied about the whole thing and tried to ruin his name when they realised he wasn't a terrorist or anything like that.
That interview with Commissioner Blair and his sidekicks on TV shortly after the shooting was cringeworthy. How can he watch that back and be comfortable with it?

The last bit where they are arresting those two suspects. It’s almost as bad as the hunt for Raul Moat. What the fuck are they doing allowing that to be on TV live!

As for knowing one of the suspects was on a Eurostar with more than 2 hours to go to Paris and not being able to have French police there to arrest him is just head shaking.

I have every sympathy for anyone involved in that day and subsequent days but as always in these organisations, it’s the leadership that has questions to answer.

Yes to all

Err, when then, OK! WOW!!

So, you believe this PRISTINE, UNCOMPRESSED BULLET…

IMG_0457.jpeg

Did all of this…

The theory says that a three-centimeter-long (1.2") copper-jacketed lead-core rifle bullet from a Model 91/38 Carcano, fired from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository, passed through President Kennedy's neck into Governor Connally's chest, went through his right wrist, and embedded itself in Connally's left thigh.

If so, this bullet traversed a back brace, 15 layers of clothing, seven layers of skin, and approximately 15 inches (38 cm) of muscle tissue, and pulverized 4 inches (10 cm) of Connally's rib, and shattered his radius bone.

The bullet was found on a gurney in the corridor at Parkland Memorial Hospital after the assassination. The Warren Commission found that this gurney was the one that had carried Governor Connally.

Have you read about it and watched it? The guy used his Oyster card was wearing a T shirt and a denim jacket. For me it’s incompetence.

A City fan tried to leg it when a sniffer dog sat down next to him outside the away end turnstiles at Arsenal on Sunday. About 30 coppers and stewards ran from all angles to take him. After the melee the police were holding a little bag of powder. The lad was released without charge and was back in the the pub by half time.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but all the Parkland doctors who treated Kennedy agreed the throat wound
was a frontal entry which they excised in order to perform a tracheotomy.Always puzzled me.
