Forgot about this one but watched it again last night, `Dogtown and Z Boys'. The roots of skateboarding in LA
If you liked that, watch bones brigade.

It follows Stacy Peralta and the greatest skateboarders of their generation:Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, Lance Mountain, Caballero etc.

Brilliant watch and quite eye opening to how they were perceived by many at the time. Very moving in some parts.

If you can find it, black fish is a good one, its about Killer Whales attacks in Seaworld

Films for action is a great site for documentaries
Watched it on Netflix recently. After always wanting to go to sea world I can safely say I'll never step foot in the place. Awful the way they've treated the whales
Try watching "Free Willy" then!

Storyville have been knocking it out the park recently. The utterly compelling Mugabe and the democrats.About the writing of a new constitution for Zimbabwe.
Bulldozers, Paving Stones and Power..The internets own boy.The Arabian motorcycle adventures.
All four top class imo.

This series of documentaries was excellent. There are a number of them but I thought the ones about 1968, the Kennedy assassination, the Civil Rights movement, the Vietnam War and the space race were the best. They are available to stream, I saw them on my xbmc box but there are other ways as well Im sure.

Watched Adam Curtis' latest documentary, Bitter Lake, last night.

In summary, it is about how the narrative of 'good vs evil', often perpetuated by western political leaders and the media, no longer makes any sense; it uses Afghanistan as an example of this this.

Really enjoyed it. Whilst it doesn't really provide anything too new or revealing, it does do a great job of tackling what is a very complex topic and presenting it in a coherent and simple way (although Curtis' style can be a bit trippy at times).

I always enjoy his films but I also take them with a pinch of salt; the way he uses stock footage and music, and often without interviews or references, makes him seem more like a glorified conspiracy theorist than an investigative journalist. But Bitter Lake basically summarises the the last 70 years of Afghan history, with facts and claims that can be easily checked/verified; he's not making any bold claims here as he has in his previous films, but instead is just laying out what we all know, in way that is easier to make sense of.

I was in a documentary about private investigators ,it was a cutting edge programme for channel 4 (I did tape the original) but lost the tape .

they followed me on a job,i had a woman walking with me who had one of those fluffy mike things and a camera man , so really incognito :).

they also did an interview in the car and made me light my ciggy ,I ended up lighting 20 ciggies until they were happy with the shot ,

my 15 minutes of fame .

Not sure if mentioned but blackfish is a cracking documentary and a real eye opener.
