He is shit, I really don't know if other people saw the same match as me. He is the weak link. You are told as a kid, either go to man and trackle, or stand off (which he does) and block the cross. He does neither. Granted he gets in good offensive poositions, but unfortunatly these first time flat cross are dogshit, and was lucky on this occasion one of them worked tonight (1st goal). Carling cup for me.
Goodness me - someone seeing the light at last?!
I was banging on about this 'left side of defence' problem ALL last Season - and stressing the importance of addressing it in the transfer window. All you lot were calling me 'rag' and telling me I know 'f' all about it...............................well you all saw the obvious truth last night.
Kolarov isnt a top four footballer, never has been and never will be AND he certainly isnt a Champions League top eight player!
Trouble is, niether is Lescott - yes he's good enough for the Prem and I have to admit he's improved on last Season - but he needs leading.
Barry too has improved, but again he's miles behind what is required of a potential Ch League winner.
So,that left side continues to be a problem and teams will (and already are) targetting us there. Never mind buying more wingers and centre forwards, we desperately need a left back AND a left footed world class centre half.

Another I got right. ;)
The argument about rotating though is fair enough if the players we're bringing in are up to it. Zab's not bad so it's fair play but Kolarov is shite. Yesterday though we had to play our best XI and that has Micah and Clichy in it.
I know theres a few scoresheet fans on here, who see the name Kolarov has scored and then watch his goal on MOTD and think "oo, he's good", but it's plain to see he's not a top footballer.
Call me old fashioned but for me a defender should be able to defend. Kolarov can't. His positional sense is all over the place, he can't tackle, too slow to chase wingers and tbh one of the softest Serbians around. This is why Zab can be let off, he's a brilliant defender and can be alright going forward.
He's not much better going forward either, no pace, poor decision making, overhits crosses (if he beats the first man), shoots from anywhere, I could go on...
I've said it for ages. Clichy > Zab > Kolarov for left back, even Bridge is close to him if not better.
He seems like a good lad off the pitch but he's got to go I'm afraid. Once him, Bridge and Kolo go, we haven't really got a bad player.
Spot on................

IS Kolarov much better though than Bridge?
I'd say they were pretty even and Bridge could have played a lot better than him last night.
I'd say Bridge
is a better player to be honest.
Stupid reply.
