Come on-we're better than this.
He was warned for it.
I'm disheartened when I see 'new fans' treated in this way.
My love for City comes from the fact that even though I was from a Red area and all my mates were Reds, City fans still took me in as part of the family, with random acts of kindness, generosity and respect. Nobody ever questioned my commitment, always gave me advice on handling the bastards I called friends, and silly things like teaching me songs when I couldn't get the words right because I couldn't hear from outside on matchday.
Fuk knows what happened there.Anyway, was saying cheers Damocles, just started crying my fukn eyes out cos of you.CTID.
This attitude is what makes us such a great club, and why we are a breach apart from the rags. The rags look at each other and divide them into categories - Mancs, Cockneys, pre '92s, pre-00's, etc, etc. We shouldn't have any of that bullshit, we should attempt to bring new members into the City family by teaching them what it means to be a City fan. This way, our club grows, but our soul is unchanged.
Mancio4Ever, one of the things that you need to understand about City fans, is that our outlook on life is different to most. The Typical City tag isn't for nothing, it's because we've had years of heartbreak. This has taught us two things:
1. Always look at the negatives of something. Purely because the moment someone dares to mention a positive, it is sure to disappear.
2. Always have a sense of humour about yourselves. I can't remember any other team ever getting beaten 4-0 at home in the first twenty minutes of a game, then singing "It's like watching Brazil" because we made a pass that connected.
We do base ourselves in the reality as you suggest. The reality is that we have won nothing for 34 years, and are 5th in the league. We'll start celebrating once we have something to celebrate. We aren't Liverpool or Milano, we don't constantly talk about how great we were 10 years ago. We live in the here and now, this is what we have being taught to do over generations. Only 10 years ago, I wouldn't think about where City were going to be next season, because I wasn't even sure if City would exist at that point, and I didn't want to worry about it.
