My Stroke Journey

Really made up for you Danny :-).

And you’re right, Neuroplasticity really is such an interesting topic, and only something I came across having done some research on a long term problem I was having before I went to see a Neurosurgeon, he was amazed someone like me found it so interesting and we ended up chatting for over an hour of which was only supposed to be a 30 minute appointment, our brains are fuckin incredible things.

amazing stuff and really pleasing to read, especially as my boss, a good friend, has suffered with similar for nearly 2 years

very active 50 year old, now unable to work with limited movement in left arm/leg and speech issues but getting back to life (he even beat me at pool last time we caught up!)

Well done Danny. What a brilliant story (well, the last part anyway) Just shows you that in life, we shouldn't take anything for granted. Good luck in the future blue. CTWD.

It’s absolutely incredible isn’t it mate!

I read a couple of books about it and it was so fascinating.
I became obsessed with it and I built a whole nutritional plan around it.
I was on a call with a gentleman in Oregon that I met on LinkedIn and he was astounded that I was so familiar with it.

It blew my mind, literally ;)

It is mate, It’s quite a few years ago now but I stumbled onto it pretty much by accident really, before it became ‘En Vogue’ speak on the internet lol, so thought I’d ask him about it in relation to a couple of things, I was a bit wary I was taking up his time but he was more than happy to go through loads of stuff, with me, couldn’t shut him up in the end ha.

Have you ended up doing a Keto/TRF/Omega 3 style of eating now ?

what's TRF?

I did a thing yesterday!
Following a life threatening brain haemorrhage & haemorrhagic stroke in March 22, after being told I wouldn’t walk again, me and my daughter walked back into the ground together for the first time again yesterday! I collapsed on the night we played palace away March 2022

Hope I’m ok sharing these links.
Proud moment & it made me realise just how far we’ve come!

What a little treasure she is mate.

Jeesh - that video is so uplifting - your daughter must be so proud of you - on wards and upwards…….

That must have been one hell of a buzz for you and your lass Dan. Not many people will get to experience the high you must have felt walking up to the ground. I wish you nothing but the best in your ongoing journey back to some sort of normality. Not sure watching City will be good for your stress levels, mind!

I had a bleed on the brain 7 years ago got rushed to Salford Royal I was very lucky that the stroke doctors were waiting in a&e for me DONT remember anything apart from waking up and had this strange sort of slurring my words. All good now apart from know what to say but i can’t pronounce it sometimes and I forget things very quickly at times, go back once a year to see specialist on medication but I’m very great full to the amazing staff we have in the NHS
