My theory on rising prices of everything

I might be totally losing the plot but my take on everything rising, mortgages, energy water rates petrol food holidays numerous other bills inflation going through the roof. Then being able to say prices will start falling very soon, because I’m not seeing any sign of inflation coming down people are still spending, who has 500/600 disposal income to manage all these increases. So my theory is all this money is to cover the cost of covid and furlough because it’s cost a fortune and this is to pay the debt
I don't agree with your assessment mate. The cost of a barrel of oil or a Big Mac going up doesn't help the Government.... Everyone is raising prices, because they can and because the greedy bastards who own everything want more & more profits, money is a drug to them, it's never enough.
Billionaires and the mega rich are the big problem in the world.
That witch Thatcher sold off everyfuckingthing to the private sector (a bunch of greedy bastards) and now people are seeing what greed is. The share price and board room bonuses are the most important to these greed merchants, they don't give a shit for you or me.
She privatised;
  • Steel
  • Railways
  • Airways
  • Airports and aerospace
  • Gas
  • Electricity
  • Telecoms
  • Water utilities

Can you say the average person has benefited from any of that, or, have any of those things improved? Or is everyone paying more for a worse service ?
The average working class (or middle class) person gives a huge amount of his/her wages to a mega millionaire or billionaire in some form (except council rates or rent).

Thatcher at least was clear that it didn't work with cronyism. That real competition was the only way to keep these organisations delivering for us.

What we have now is just absurd. I feel so bad for people like OP. My dad - capitalist boardroom dweller - would have been heart broken if I'd made excuses for big business. (Or said that working people had to pay the debts of the nation)

He knew, these organisations have no interest in telling us anything that doesn't suit them - unless forced to do so. They have always been, always will be, entirely self interested and only focused on profit.

As a private citizen - never take their side. Ever.

We, customers, voters, etc, our duty is to know that these people will always lie to us, always try to get us to believe something that is only in their interest. That's fine, there are ways of dealing with it. Mostly, through making demands of politicians, or by exercising our right to choose with our feet and our wallets.

But we must do that. Because we are the only ones who can. We have to make them work for us. We have to be educated, realistic, demanding, assertive, and always focused on our own needs.

Never make an excuse for a politician, especially in power. Never buy a shit narrative that makes it your job, your responsibility to pay, to put the economy right, or anything like that. That is not how it works. The companies and banks and politicians control that. It is their job. We have to demand they work for us, and show them we will take our money, our custom, our votes elsewhere, if they try anything on.

Our annual expenditure at work has gone up by 16% compared to last year. Inflation at about 6% but 16%??? We’ve not spent on any extraordinary things either. Make of that what you will.

And effectively privatised social housing.
