cleavers, I am adamant that FFPR was brought in because of us - brought in for the sole reason that we have more money that any other team has ever had and it threatens them. I think Blatter and Platini would cut off their rights arms for a way of banning us from playing in Europe. Yes, I think would throw us out, and I think if our board made their financial decisions based on the assumption that UEFA don't dare then they are the most foolish individuals the world has ever known, to put it mildly.

I'm going to disagree. I do also think the FFPR was installed due to us, but it's more of an "Okay, we'll let you guys in but no more!" move. It's to prevent anyone after us from doing the same.

The FFPR were brought in because the so called big clubs of the G14 kicked off when chelsea became chelski, crying it would be unfair them not having as much money. The ongoing process or system to police this, was probably speeded up when we came into our money, because Platini hates the English with a passion.

I know the money is really important, but for me im just glad we will have a name, never know what to bloody call the place!! Etihad arena/stadium etc.. would be the best.

That's what I don't get though, who's to say what our stadiums naming rights are worth, so just because Arsenal got £100m we cant get that much more even if we are higher profile than them? (im not saying we are but Barca for example, they could get about 10x what arsenal get quite easily).

But what's over the top? and who is it upto to decide whats over the top? That's what I mean, I don't like these dodgy grey areas where people have the power to decide which clubs can get what, this who fifa financial thing is a joke.

You're right it's a big grey area who does decide and who knows what its worth as someone else has said (tolmie i think) who is to say we can't sign a 50 year deal worth £10mill a season cash up front theres £500mill right there
