Napoli (A) Post Match Thread

Positives:
1) Absolutely sensational performance, excellent all over the pitch.
2) Sergio broke the record so the weight is off his shoulders and he can get back to scoring EVERY game.

Negative:
1) Sergio broke the record at an away game so we'll have to wait until Sunday to give him the reception he deserves.

WTFIGO:
1) Waxing lyrical about us on BT Spite
2) We were willing to sell Delph

Brilliant for everybody at the club.

We should ask Napoli how much they want for Ghoulam and pay it immediately. Guy was brutally murdering us before going off injured. Imagine rotating Mendy, Ghoulam, Walker and Maffeo next season...

Spot on but don't forget Delphino

Great game and what a statement to come out 4-2 winners. I thought we looked a bit afraid to take the game to them in the first 25 min. But we stood up after the 0-1 and that was it. Napoli are indeed a very strong team, and they had their moments. If they can progress, they can go a long way. If ...

Sergio fantastic to “plan” his record breaking moment at the stadium where Maradona is the legend. To me Sterling, Fernandinho and Otamendi were an 8, but I am so impressed with Stones who played a 9. Pep has made every player better, but the steps with which Stones has improved are unbelievable.

I will never like UEFA ever, but this way even European football can be massively interesting.

Love Aguero's goal just from a football standpoint

Napoli excellently work a 1v1 with Ederson who makes a world class save. From the corner, Dinho superbly sets up Sane to counter with a clever pass. Sane shows the kind of pace you rarely see in a game. 3 City players are breaking their necks to support him. The ball falls to Aguero whose 1st touch is perfect and he puts us back in the lead, breaking the record in the process.

Just high quality football allround

Oh and Pep takes off Gundogan, not for a defender, not for a defensive midfielder ...for David Silva :D

Out of contract in the summer I believe, could and should pick him up with the difference in the Sanchez fee in January.

Still buzzing about this win. The more i analyze it the better we were. Some people calling us at fault for the first 20mins. Some of you really do need to lay of the computer games and learn about actual real life football; failing that, remember a game is 90mins long please. Napoli came at us like a tsunami, i am pretty sure Pep's plan was thus... "fuck going at them at first, soak it up and get in at half time maybe a goal down, do that and we will win" in short. Everyone knew they were going to come out hard. It is not fifa footballer or whatever it is called, you can't follow the same rigid tactic week in week out constantly, there will be times to adapt, this was one of those matches.

We followed the game plan exactly as Pep wanted i think, we showed other facets of our game and most important our resilience. To come from behind against a super attacking and well drilled Napoli at their gaff is fantastic and showed we have character in buckets.

Gonna watch it again now actually.
