Napoli attendance {merged}

Re: 28k (ish) for Napoli?

If the North Stand is half empty, what does it suggest for 3rd tiers?

On the hopeful side, most would buy in 3rd tier over the North Stand as they are better seats, and seasoncard uptake will be higher as less families with kids struggling over a late Kick Off

I reckon around 35k. Better than 28k, but still an embarrassment

Club could help by relaxing ticket criteria

So why did the club say it was nearly a sell out?
Marketing.

Anti marketing more like. I know the marketing philosophy is that if you make an event appear to be in great demand, more people will want to go. But a lot of City fans that are two minds about going will see this sort of announcement and decide not to bother. They'll think of big queues, long waits on the telephone, hassle. And the likelihood of not getting a ticket at the end of the hassle.

that happens regardless of how many tickets we have to sell

This will look shit if there are loads of empty seats
Our 1st Champions league game : (
So long as the team play well and win, I couldn't personally care less.

If you are going then that's all that really matters, why worry about what others think ? Our stadium won't be the only one not full this week.

Re: 28k (ish) for Napoli?

I know the club did this last year. Everton at home springs to mind. Will they push these remaining tickets by offering discounted prices when picked up in person at the ticket office?

How would you feel if they did this?

Re: 28k (ish) for Napoli?

Anything less than 42-43k is embarrassing in my opinion

The majority of my friends and family who couldn't be arsed with the Europa league last season are going to the Napoli game. I would have thought that would be reflected in our fan base as a whole. Just can't understand why this isn't selling

I'd rather they gave the tickets away to schools than 10,000 empty seats. Absolutely no problem with flogging what's left.
