Napoli Away Last 2 Places

Re: Napoli Away 1 Night stopover still available

Best of luck to Man City over in Italy.

I found Naples to be a fantastic city just with an ugly exterior, make sure you try the local pizza.

As for safety round the San Paolo its no distance at all from Campi Flegrei station and whoever is staying in Sorrento or any of the coastal towns (bar Castellmare di stabia) is due a great trip. If anyone needs any info on the San Paolo or surrounding area, drop me a message.

Why say that? You have chosen not to go, thats up to you why start scaremongering based on a youtube clip of fans buying tickets at a stadium that has a bit of grafitti on the exterior.

It will be a top trip for those that are going.

I don't think they are scaremongering. I think like most of us staying home (for many reasons) we just don't want ANY City fan to come home hurt (or worse).

Sadly, there ARE some total nutters out there, and whilst the romantic view of sharing a beer with some of the Napoli fans is great (hope folks can), it still only takes one moron to take offence to something and someone gets hurt.

I think it's just a reminder to folks that not everwhere is 'welcoming' and since this City's first experience of such places, fans should keep their wits about them.

COYB!!!

"I like living", this isn't scaremongering?

You have to keep your wits about you on any away game, but if you prefer the plastic shiney grounds where there is no tension in the air then thats up to you. The fact that this game will have something riding on it and it's also against a side that has an unsavoury reputation adds to the overall experience for me. Me & the missus can't wait

For me personally I love grounds where there it lots of tense atmosphere. I'm just not keen on foreign cities and town where there is tension on the streets. Especially not where there is a reputation for quite serious violence.

I think that's the key difference. Tension in the ground not on the streets.

Have a great SAFE trip though and lets hope we can salvage our CL dreams. We might know a bit more after the Villareal game though.

Right - time to get ready for the match! Block 123, Row B, Seat 654

How can anyone be scared from going to an away game, just from watching a youtube clip of supporters buying tickets ?
As for what the ground looks like, from that clip it looks just like lots of european grounds, better than a lot...
I know the rep they have, but that clip is nothing to be scared of.

Re: Napoli Away 1 Night stopover still available

I appreciate Liverpool fans may not be welcome on this site, but many of us do actually care for the safety of all football fans. I went to Naples with Liverpool last season, and I can tell you, it is not the safest of cities. I travelled down from Rome by train on the morning of the game, at the same time, hearing of the stabings the previous evening. I stayed near the piazza garibaldi and did not enjoyed a single moment of the trip as its hard to see where you are walking if you are looking over your shoulder all the time! I'm sure most of you will have a good time if you be careful. Down by the waterfront is nice and I believe Pompeii is well worth a visit. Its just a crazy city and I will never go there again. After the game by the way, we were kept in the ground for ages, then put onto a convoy of buses and taken the very long way back into town. Then, hilariously as it seems now, dropped off down by the port, where no one was staying, and left to our own devices to get back to the city centre. Stick together is all I can advise.
