hey pete can you name some quality napolitan music, songs or full albums which re good.

i only this one :)
Well, it's hard to say! Napoli has a rich tradition in music, i can name you lots of titles:
'o surdato 'nnamurato (the soldier in love, despite some ultras don't like this abit of us, we use to sing it after a winning match)
'o sole mio (my sun)
tuorna a surriento (come back to Sorrento)
anema e core (soul and heart)
malafemmena (nasty woman)
reginella (pretty queen)
funiculì funiculà (impossible to translate, it comes from "funicolare" that's a train to go up to a hill, like Praga's or Montmartre's).

those are just old songs, we have a recent tradition as well, like Pino Daniele or Almamegretta (who worked together with Massive Atttack)...

already downloading pino and almamegretta, thnx

good video Pete. Can I ask how much the napoli fans paid for their tickets and was it considered a decent price?

Yes it was considered very fair for Champions League (Euros 29). When Napoli played Liverpool in the Europa League De Laurentis saw it as a money making opportunity. I paid 50 for a seat I normally pay 35 for. However the visitors section (settore ospiti)is priced the same as the Curvas, and for the Pool game he increased it from 15 to 25. I would guess you're gonna pay in the region of 25-30, unless he gets real greedy!!!

Good vid. I kept seeing that "are you Italian? No, Napulitan!" banner the other night. Reminded me of the "Catalunia is NOT Spain" banners they have up at the Camp Nou for some Barca games. Obviously proud to be Neapolitans!
Yes mate a huge cultural divide in Italy. Napoli is the poorest Italian city by a street...but it is the richest culturally by a country mile. Rome and the north sing "noi non siamo napoletani" (we are not Neapolitans) in a ridiculing racist way....they wouldn't dare do it face to face.
The Neapolitans sing back "VOI NON SIETE NAPOLETANI" (you are not Neapolitans). Search these phrases in youtube.
For the Neapolitan people it goes back to the fateful unity of Italy in 1861. From being the 3rd richest country in Europe (The Kingdom of The Two Sicilies) the south of Italy has declined economically because the North used their wealth to develope industry.
The envy of the Northern cities is that these people (Neapolitans) refuse to lie down in spite of their government turning their backs on them (a very evil envy)
Unsurprising. When Manchester was the leading city of the industrial world it was heralded by everyone. Benjamin Disreli once said "whatever Mabchester does, the rest of the world follows" and "Certainly Manchester is the most wonderful city of modem times." But then as soon as the workers of Manchester wanted rights the Govt sent down the army and opened fire on a huge crowd (over 100k) of demonstrators killing and injuring many. Plus as soon as industry began to decline in Manchester and spread across the world Manchester was ignored by the Govt for decades. It took an IRA bomb for people to look at our city and realise it could do with a bit of investment. But if it weren't for that bomb I feel Manchester would still be the forgotten city of England.

Plus recently the northwest counties of Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire wanted their own kind of Govt away from central London Govt. That idea fell through but obviously many felt we don't get a fair crack of the whip in the North West.

Obviously this is accentuated further with the situation in Naples.

Here is an interview with Sasa' 'The Eagle', prior to the game as he alludes to the huge changes modern football has inflicted on what was once the people's game.
Basically how agents, players, and the media hijacked OUR game.

This is one of 5 vids we the Napoli Fans Club of London made of our day in Manchester. Links can be found to the right if you wish to see the others.

Since the 1800's clubs have been buying success in England, arsenal and utd have had mega rich owners utd having at least 4 that bought them Highbury/old trafford to the moores littlewoods pools family that backed the 2 scouse clubs to the hilt it has gone on a lot longer than the media likes to say.

this song speaks of Briganti , the most tragic period of the Neapolitan people, where almost a million Napoletani were slain by the north, to enrich their banks conquering the kingdom of the 2 Sicilies

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXMPryOrMhs" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXMPryOrMhs</a>

This song was written in 1945, during the American occupation, where women were raped and children were born blacks, and were called names with traditional Neapolitan and this happy song simply tells this tragic moment, and this is the specialty of the Neapolitans, the through difficult times with a smile.
I invite those who come to Naples for the trip to visit all the museums of the city, remember that Naples is the UNESCO World Heritage Site
