Napoli post-match thread

We were never gonna boss Napoli for 90 minutes straight, it was clear in that first 30 minutes we played harder, smarter and faster, and Pep teams usually have trouble sustaining such concentration any longer than that.

There is a great post somewhere where when Pep teams score in the first 30 they win like over 80% of the time, because his teams cannot replicate the performance for the whole game, and when they don't the win percentage drops drastically.
 
Did that starting 11 hit a wall after so many recent minutes, or were Napoli responsible for our drop in form over the last 60 minutes of the game? If the former, is it time for a bit of rotation this weekend?
 
Best team on paper we've played up to now and another test passed.
Did I hear correctly that we only need a point to go into the knockout stages?

First real test of the season passed. Napoli are a quality team. Should have been out of sight 1st half but we won't win by 4 or more every game.
 
please bring back 2 striker formation once Kun is fit.
need to play 4 diamond midfield against tough opponents.
 
I thought Walker, Fernandinho had bad games and Sané had a bad first half, which unfortunately coincided with the period when we should have put the game away and a few times he made poor decisions in attack, but kept going and looked much better in the second half.

I also think that's the toughest team we'll play until February, so if we can still beat them with some players having off-days' then you can't complain.

Ederson, Stones & Otamendi were absolutely fantastic in every aspect of the game.

Fernandinho looked exhausted, and again, while no one in England are going to work us as hard as Napoli, he needs to be kept fit.
 
I feel like we saw the best Napoli could throw at us where we can be far more ruthless in attack than we were tonight, the battle was in the middle of the pitch but that's lost on some City fans I think.
