Napoli Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

They were a very, very organised unit. Clinical finishing. Some poor defending from us and the scoreline could have been a lot, lot worse. Some good performances, but what a game to have so many put in a poor shift at once. Some questionable changes to the side and for the life of me, I cannot understand why we did not accept Napoli's invitation to come down the flanks. Tomorrow's another day. Keep the faith lads.

Mancini at fault for the defeat. Wrong team, substitutions to late, and a piss poor team performance. This doesnt just mean we are out of the Champions League, it means Thursday night football in the Europa League, and that means messing up our League games. Shocking night of football on and off the field. Lets hope that lessons are learnt all around.
 
Gutted but we deserved nothing... naive isn't the word, we should have been better prepared for their counterattacks but if anything seemed more susceptible to them than in the first leg.

Only Silva really stood out for me, working his arse off to make something happen. Dzeko was appalling - usually when he plays so bad he scores to make us not care but he was just terrible today. Balotelli not really any better despite the tap-in. We needed big performances from both forwards and both let us down.
 
Good try. Just unlucky conceding those cheap goals, but it is very like us. I don't believe they outplayed us. I think we did ourselves a disservice in the second half by perhaps being a little complacent in possession.

The boys will feel dissapointed because in all honesty, that was one we shouldve won had we been more discipline in our play. I hope we don't lose momentum in the league as a result of being out of the champions league, because the two are very different.

Anyways, i'm proud of the lads. First taste of champions league has been good and i know we can do better next time.

Onwards and upwards city.
 
I can honestly say I don't give a shit about the Champs league this season. Our time will come in that competition but this season I really want us to win the league.

We should play the kids in Europa and have our squad fresh for the league because if we keep them fit we will win it.
