Narcos

Yeah the first 5 eps were so fucking good. I also think the last two eps were changing the pace as the game had changed a lot. I can see why some found it jarring or disjointing but it did not bother me.

Did you like JFK, mate?

Not him personally but the Oliver stone movie??? There were more facts in that than this season of narcos!!

Facts aren't everything in a tv show.

But it is a shame that the first season made me read around the history and then the second season kept doing things I knew weren't true.

Changed show runners between seasons. Probably the reason.

Agreed mate, I was just expecting so much more as killing Pablo is one of my favourite books.. Whatever the excuses, there's an obligation to not glorify the central character, in Narcos Pablo comes away as a bit of a rogue (:

If anything, it could of probably done with 8 episodes. The second series was mainly about him being on the run, they did drag it out a bit. Still think it's better than the first series though, you get to see how much of nutter he was.

The way episodes 6-8 dragged on made me relate with the DEAs frustration as they hunted for Escobar for months without any progress.

I was starting to root for him at one point!

I thought he came across as a complete **** in series two. Series one I loved him.

As did the blonde yank DEA agent.

Never watched it for some reason. I have a good nose for films that will piss me off (u-571 anybody). For Narcos i was aware a large chunk was for dramatic effect and squared that away in my head so i could enjoy it for what it is. I have since watched detailed programs on him and others.

In my conclusion of 'most infamous narco lord' Escobar has no equal. The videos of Los Zetas fucking up Sinalao members and vice versa is brutal yeah but nothing new. He blew a commercial plane up ffs, i still find that astonishing, and the attack on the courts of justice etc, the car bombs, so many bombs.

As detached from morality as he was, he understood humanity in it's most basic of way's, namely force is the ultimate power in this world and we are greedy aka plata o plomo. A vicious man but one i have to respect in some weird way for his bollocks basically, he knew he was gonna die violently for a while and still had it in him to keep his shit do an extent.

You were clouded with how shit the character was presented, as was the actor playing him... We're talking about a man who has killed thousands here yet he treats his mam with the upmost respect, right on (:

I learnt a very long time ago to research any biographical tv/films - I can't be doing with sugar coating. Real respect is earned, not through fear mate. His downfall stems from wanting recognition, he had enough money to buy Bolivia, yet chose to stay and fight a fake war with himself... He loved the violence, the money, the fame, don't kid yourself there was any moral crusade in that package!!!
