Nasri was genuinely world class for half of last season. In the second half he faded (along with the rest of Arsenal) but so did Tevez, Bale, and Van Der Vaart - it seemed to be a trend among a group of really good players. Mancini's task will be to try and get Nasri to show that form from the first half of the season on a consistent basis. And if he can retain the goalscoring form that he found last season, that will add 10-15 goals a season from a position we've lacked goals from.

LOL.

You don't seem to remember a flabby looking Tevez having a long goal drought that lasted something like 10 games and was (IIRC) broken by a penalty. He looked out of sorts and couldn't score for a while, then got injured, then had a nice little cameo when he came back at the end of the season (because he wanted to win the golden boot).

Goal drought is a goal drought, Tevez carried us at the top end of the pitch last season regardless of whether he was scoring goals or not.

It is really hard to say who we could swap him with...but i do feel tevez will still give his all for this football club.....you could see even after his spat in jan..he still put in the top performances...so i say goodbye in janwith our best wishes to corinthians and then have that to play for in jan..and we have these months to pick who we need.....to me the don wants him out though it looks..

Well the best tevez replacement in the world (I.E. a trequartista) would be Aguero. If this was the case, then I guess a target striker would be an inverted right sided forward.

Or....... Aguero may just be the inverted right sided forward while tevez stays.

I dont think i am dreaming when we have in my eyes silva, tevez aguero ,yaya as world class talent throw in dzeko and balo as on the cusp of world class talent...why can we not be in for a world known player.....

He wasn't playing well and wasn't scoring, I'm not sure how else "out of form" could be represented than that. In February and March, with Tevez not playing well, we were often relying on players like Micah, Kolarov, and Silva to score and give us narrow wins even with Tevez on the pitch and looking jaded and overweight.

What about the other tevez replacement candidates?

such as?

http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=228796

and more...

the only "world known" player on that list is samuel eto'o. hulk is pretty well known as is rossi. lavezzi is a name but how anybody could class him as a Tevez replacement is simply beyond belief, no matter how good a player he is, he doesnt score anywhere near enough goals to be mentioned as a possible replacement for a guy whos scored 53 goals in 18months.

and frankly the only players we've been seriously linked with on that list are cerci, who lets be honest is not a well known player and is not going to make any team in europe lose sleep, and eto'o who is think is an incredible striker, the only truly proven world class player on your list, but who wants to use us for a final pay day as hes virtually at the end of his career.

so lets say your right and he had a bad february and march... 2 months equates to half of the season? Tevez was magic again last season for long periods and without him over the last 2 years theres no doubt we would not be even close to where we are today

Yeah, I Agree.

I don't get why this transfer is dragging out so much. Arsenal have got two options either sell him now and get a respectable £20Million for him or let him go next season on a free transfer...just sell him ffs.
