If the spending is to stop after Nasri as suggested in the Daily Mail, I really hope it means Weiss gets a chance as the "winger" and Nasri is the "midfielder" (although still feel Bob might have wanted a proper midfielder, hence the De Rossi links).

Think Nasri can play both toles that is the attraction of him - it gives bobby options so if AJ / Ballo aint doin it or we need a more creative midfield ot Silva god forbid is injured he has options

If SWP goes i still think there will be one more signing

Nasri set for City - but wants to join United

Samir Nasri is joining Manchester City - but he would PREFER to sign for their bitter rivals Manchester United.

Nasri has told friends that his dream was to sign for United, who were his preferred destination - along with Real Madrid and Barcelona - when he made his mind up to quit Arsenal this summer.

Despite City’s FA Cup success last season, and qualification for the Champions League, Nasri feels United are still the country’s top team and offer the best chance of winning the top honours.

The midfielder was understood to be so keen on a move to Old Trafford that he was willing to sit out the last year of his contract at Arsenal and join United on a Bosman next summer.

However, Sir Alex Ferguson did not firm up his initial interest with an offer and neither Real nor Barca made a move, leaving City as Nasri's only option.

The 24-year-old is happy to join City in a £22million move, however, and knows they are better placed to win trophies than Arsenal.

The Blues are also prepared to treble his wages to £180,000-a-week and will offer him a five-year contract.

City boss Roberto Mancini has been championing the deal which now, much to the Itaian's frustration, is dragging on, with the latest delay understood to be down to agents’ fees.

The City hierarchy are determined to change the perception that they are a soft touch in negotiations and are taking a tough line in the talks.

Nasri has yet to undergo his medical and the deal may not be completed before Sunday’s top-of-the-table clash with Bolton.

The media never let you down...

Comical this now, they do it with every player we sign.

Silva will stay at 21, Kola will stay at 13. Aguero cant have 11, johnno has it (and you dont take the number away from someone who still plays). Could take 10 though. As much as i love sweep, Nasri should take 8

You would take away SWPs number but not Johnson's? Top 11 player should get the first 11 numbers. Players taking "their" number (Silva Balo, etc..) is not good for team harmony. Silva is our 10 and he should wear it on his back.

My opinion of course. :)

Manchester City myth-busting Bunk Moorland style.

2. It’s a squad game
Wrong, tell that to Barcelona who used the same 15 players in 96% of all fixtures last year. We’ll play our best 11 – Period. The only rotating that will be done will be as a result of injuries or resting of key players in inconsequential fixtures (of which there will be few this year I suspect). Assuming that a) he stays and b) Mancini believes he has a short-medium term future at the club (6-12 months), Tevez will play.

Barcelona are able to keep the first 11 settled because they keep and move the ball far better than any other side. To borrow a cliche they really do 'let the ball do the work' and more often than not spend the majority of the game on the front foot rather than tracking runners or concentrating on defensive duties. As such playing a game for Barcelona is less physically and mentally demanding than it is playing for other sides. It's certainly something to aspire too but not a style many sides will be able to replicate.

On top of that the Spanish league is more about technique than physical prowess and the cup competitions are less competitive than their English equivalent. There are also factors such as weather, pitch conditions and the profile of matches that make comparisons with Barca a bit unrealistic.

if someone didnt have their heart in the team fully 100% i wouldnt play them.

Do you really think that Tevez' heart was in it 100% (your words not mine) after he'd put in a transfer request at christmas?

You know, when he carried on scoring goals for us afterwards even though it was clear he wanted to leave..

Not playing Tevez when he is fit would be absolute insanity. I find it hard to believe that people would even suggest it!

OH and ps i wasnt reffering to tevez anyway i meant players in general so you jumped the gun a bit there.

The truth and oddity about Tevez is that if he's near the pitch he wants to play and wants to play 110%. When he is at home or on holiday then the trouble sets in.
