If i was an Arsenal fan i'd be actually fuming over this. So basically what Wenger is doing is gambling that Nasri doesn't pick up any kind of injury that may scupper a £25m deal.

If thats what Wenger is playing at then i woould, even though i'd be £100 down, laugh my bollocks off at Wenger who would certainly lose him on a free next summer.

No disrespect to Nasri, but i hope he gets injured now, just to see Arsenal implode.

I fucking don't.

I really want that £330! Fuck your hundred fella.

:-)

You'd only lose £30 though. I stand to lose a ton.
Fick me, what odds did you get for a ton?

I wish I'd had you balls.

Agents fees is the stumbling block according to ssn,not arsenal/wenger/city or anything....fuckin greedy bastard agents
I was told that the agents fees were close to £3million, this was the reason the rags baulked at any deal and walked away

we should have put an ultimatum on this deal a long time ago!! mata had a buyout clause for what we are paying for nasri and probably would have jumped at the chance of playing with silva again!!
Mata never had a buy out clause. Its just balague who spread that lie. i mean he kept saying mata is available for 18 million euros.........wouldnt teams come in for him? they are saying Chelsea are bidding 29 million pound for him. So it would appear Balague knows something most club didnt know

Hey idiot the buy out clause expired July 31st. Know your facts before saying someone doesnt know what they are talking about. Your lot was stupid enough (or just cheap and wanted to look like they were doing something) to let the buy out clause expire.
woow you are talking like you read his contract.

If Nasri becomes a free agent, he'll sign for the rags. Less competition for places & more experience winning trophies. City would be unlikely to get a replacement of the same quality, which will cause a bust up between Mancini & the board, as he wants Nasri & thinks it should be done already. City will be a player short from the squad Mancini believes he needs. A load of contract lawyers execs & staff will have wasted weeks being paid to do a job that has been a complete waste of time.

Other than that it's a fantastic idea.

In that case, why didnt he just stick two fingers up at Arsenal and sign a pre-contract with the rags in january?

I thought players could only sign pre-contracts with clubs outside of their own country?

Otherwise wouldn't there be a conflict of interests for the second half of the season?

Does anyone know for sure... but I'm fed up of reading about how Nasri can sign a pre-contract with City or the rags when I'm not convinced he can.

Put me out of my misery... ;-))
He could sign it a month before his contract expires.

However, there's nothing to stop his agent and Cook having a night in watching Eastenders, and shouting out random numbers until they agree on a figure.

Buy out clauses only apply between Spanish clubs and are generally never used. They are a way of a club stopping another Spanish club buying a player they don't want to sell. Not least as the player has to buy himself out of the contract, rather than the buying club paying it. The buying club would obviously give the money to the player, but that makes it taxable, pushing the price up further.

The buy out clause therefore has no impact on whether Arsenal, Chelsea or City go for Mata and never did. We'd always have to pay what Valencia wanted.

Thats what i think as well. I mean Mata is a class player and if 18 million euros would get him, teams would have made a bid, Now its reported Chelsea are gonna make 29 million bid, surely they didnt just wake up one day and say woow that Mata guy looks good, lets get him.

Also Balague is full of it. this is what he said. Arsenal met the so called clause, they had an agreement with mata, but when it was time they didnt pay the money. Now im not saying i know 100% how football work. but have a club ever paid transfer fee for a player they have not put through a medical or signed an actual contract with?
