I'd have liked to see us go for a more experienced CB because in all likelihood we'll need him when either VInny or Lescott get injured and if it's a tough game they'll be no settling in period.

Why couldn't we just have signed Gary Cahill in January? He would have been perfect for us and an absolute snip at 7m. So frustrating.

Whilst I dont agree that Savic is good enough to fit straight in to our team currently he still may benefit from an extended run in a lesser team.
Trouble is because of a few costly errors no-one is likely to take the risk.
Nastasic could well face similar problems as Savic if he doesn't play like Baresi or Maldini in his first handful of games.

It's doubtful any young defender can be as gaffe-prone as Savic (and to be fair to the kid he was extremely unfortunate in that a lot of his mistakes were punished by costly goals) but it doesnt matter how good this Nastasic is he WILL make mistakes.

With this deal Mancini has held his held up and admitted he's made an error of judgement.
I think we should too and cut this lad a lot more slack than we did Savic.
