One positive about this season, in terms of looking forward, is that we now have a group of defenders that can provide a bedrock for our team for at least the next four seasons. Kolo, Lescott and Maicon apart, they are all relatively young.
Stability and quality in defence like that is a wonderful base upon which a truly great team can be built and re-built.

Arsenal, Chelsea and united, during their periods of dominance in the last two decades have all had stable back fours/goalies.

reminds me of gerard pique esc kind of defender,looks so comfatable on the ball and is a good reader of the game for a 19 year old,glad he is ours.
