Nathan Ake

Absurd comment, of course it does.

If Bournemouth were to stay up they clearly wouldn't need the additional funds as much as they would if they were relegated due to the guaranteed revenue in the PL of £150,000,000 plus a season.

If they are relegated they will obviously be more reliant on generating additional revenue.
25 or 35m literally makes no difference mate, just pay what we need to get the deal done. We are hardly scraping around to get the money together,

If we believe Ake is worth the fee, we'll pay it, if not, we won't. Bournemouth's relegation should not lower the price, you don't do business in that way unless you're a snake. It's disrespectful to not only Bournemouth but Ake as well, why would he want to play for a team who is happy to do the dirty on a club he's probably got quite a bit of love for who gave him a real chance and is letting him leave to further his career. Kids playing football manager mentality.

Too much pessimism in this thread. Ake is a much better option than Stones, Otamendi or Garcia (for now at least). At this stage, I'd be happy just to have a reliable premier league centre-back who isn't error-prone.

The number of mistakes made by Stones and Otamendi, this season in particular, is a bit of a joke. It can't just be down to the way we play - it's like a collective brainfart every time we face a counter attack.

Ake is a great player, and could mature into another leader at the back for us. Think we'll get him and maybe Alaba, who can also play CB. That should give us enough cover, with Garcia having some room to grow.

Bollocks Ake isn't as good as what we have is another Bony.

How many seasons did Bony do well in the PL?

How many seasons has Ake done well in the PL?

You realise Chelsea are interested in bringing him back as well?

Bony's pace turned out to be a problem for how we played and I don't think anyone expected him to fall off a cliff with his finishing like he did after he joined us. Oh and he could only play 1 position, and we had Nacho.

Ake has been a consistent PL performer and fits Pep's style very well and can play 3 key positions where we have depth problems.

The fact Bony's arse was bigger than the Etihad was his main problem.

Took him 6 weeks just to turn the fuck around.

Getting relegated has bugger all to do with his value.

Surely it does though? When Bournemouth get relegated Ake will not want to play in the Championship and City will know this and thus will be able to lowball as the selling club has no position of power.
