Txiki was obviously just avoiding ramping up speculation. No deals for players in CL/EL will be finished until their current clubs European campaigns are done and none of our players will leave before then either. I'd expect if Ferran Torres and Nathan Ake are joining, it'd be ASAP with the window now open.

Was rodri not also a CB pre city like Vinny? Would he be an option, big and strong, good in the air and a good pass. Does mean more purchase options if struggling with a quality CB. Perhaps another quality DM instead.

30-40m for a player of Ake’s quality is a no brainier for me. Plays 3 positions, has pace, very good 1v1 defender and brave enough to throw himself into tackles/blocks like a proper defender. Add the fact that he is a danger on set plays and and very comfortable on the ball with experience in the league and and at international level! What’s not to like?
