From AD, a top Dutch source. This seems the more likely scenario as opposed to what the Guardian reported about it basically being a done deal at £35m

He's a shit load better value than the 80 million pound man 'arry Slabhead at the prices quoted, I'll tell you that much

Good first signing if this ends up true

I havent watched Ake with a keen eye, nor do I want to watch 'YouTube highlights' of Ake.

For anyone who has focused on Ake's performance, how does he rate, does he fit our calibre, and how do you think he'll fit into our team?

Tbh I don't think anyone here has been following Bournemouth with a close eye lol. But Bournemouth fans view him as their greatest ever player and think he's primed to play for a CL team. As a backup, I don't think we can complain. Seems very quick, reads the game well and has PL experience.

Well we have to remember how Stones looked at Everton , Mendy at Monaco, Cancelo at Juventus. (Bony at Swansea lol)
And we have to see how their current season is.

Lot of players cannot adapt, cannot bring their best at a much better team or in a different league, different setup.

Only a few can really improve.
Like Kompany at Hamburg

Pep wants left-footed CB so Ake ticks the box. Good on the ball, decent passer, can play out under pressure, fast, good in the air despite being a bit short and plus homegrown. I think he would be the fastest CB in our squad which is vital when we play such a high defensive line and 90% of teams try to play a long ball over the top.

Better than what we have at present, but isn’t there somebody out there that is better still?

If Ake agrees to move to us it shows ambition and a willingness to learn. It’s a big step up for him and he will need to develop to get game time. He could move to Newcastle or Everton where he’d get first team football going through the motions.. but it looks like he wants to work with Pep and take his game to the next level. Respect for that.
