Nathan Ake

I'm pretty indifferent about it to be honest.

I don't think we'll ever get offered that kind of money for him again, don't think he'll ever be part of a first choice pair, and don't think it affects our season much given he'll likely start half a dozen games outside the domestic cups.

Not that often we do,but got to agree with that in all honesty

I'm happy about this.

It was a needless, transfer shake up, too far in my opinion. Fernandinho, Raz, Gabby, Zinch and then Ake would be a lot of experience walking out the door in one summer.

They needed him more than we needed to sell so we're correct to demand top dollar and not strengthen them further. Its a very settled position for us, we didnt need to do it.

Excellent news if true. The figures thrown around were nowhere near too good to turn down levels, which would be the only reason to sell. Would have cost us more to bring in a replacement who would then take 12 months just to get to the same level as Ake. He's settled here now, gives our 4 cbs a near perfect balance, also seems a very well liked member of the squad who isn't going to rock the boat. His versatility and homegrown status are two noteworthy bonuses to his value and at a period where we've got nearly a third of the squad still to fully integrate, I think it's going to be very important our defence is settled. Best scenario in my view.

Pretty much. Those games matter though, and can be the margin between wining a trophy and not. As they were last season, and if he performs again like he did, then worth having him here.

55 million would have been great business for a player that basically needs multiple injuries to others to happen if he is going to get into the starting eleven.

But if the chavs aren't paying that then much better he remains as cover for us. Started to look a quite handy player last year. Glad to see him stay.

Hope that is true. He'll get game time here and the bar at city is always to improve to be selected, match or better Laporte and he's in, and at an world class level.

Plus too much change in one window isn't healthy. Take our time, talk to him, let him go next summer if he wishes and that gives us time to get the replacement, which sounds more and more like that Gvardiol ever day. He should be ready next summer to make a call on.
