Nathan Ake

He probably was, in a season when 3 others were unavailable for huge chunks.
You are right, he had some top performances. He had some dodgy lapses too, that lesser liked players would not have so readily ignored.

But then so did Kompany quite often, so maybe par for the course.
Tweaked it to make more sense buddy :)

I wouldnt sell him , he was very handy when he played last season , i dont think we should be leaving ourselves open to cb injuries without him or dinho to cover , he knows tye system now , a newby is a risk

For it to make sense to sell, the club would need to either get an upgrade, or make a serious profit on whoever replaces him. A proper profit, the club aren't in the business of upsetting thi gs sor some 5-10m.

The upgrade isn't easy which is why the club looked at hom for 2 years and paid 40m for. The profit, means finding a suitable cheaper alternative and more importantly, Chelsea paying big.

With 3 years left, no pressure to sell, Chelsea really need to pay big, for a player feom a rival they want, need, and can count as club trained.

I agree though a serous profit could come from making a small profit on him and making getting in a very undervalued player in someone suggested someone who is supposed to be quality and going free not saying he is the correct player or the club would actually agree but it’s possible

50m for an average cb is crazy for Chelsea and great business for us, Ake will be replaced and can easily be improved up[on.

Que?

I can’t imagine he’d be too happy if we refuse a decent offer from Chelsea (45m+) and the opportunity for him to rejoin them as a starter. And Pep doesn’t like unhappy players around the squad.

Be more than happy with 50m for him but not sure who we would bring in as a replacement that would be good enough/happy to be fourth choice.

Perhaps Adarabioyo? Or maybe we start looking at some of those elite Italian cbs who are getting on a bit now - what’s Bonucci up to?
