Nations League Good or Bad ?

Got to say that I like this format. Bit more competitive, break on daft number of subs, even games, chance for minnows to get chance to win

They mess ALOT up but fair play Eufa on this one

bad, in that more pressure on mangers to play 'first XI' players for more minutes than in 'friendlies' , so players come back more fatigued

So professional footballers shouldn't be playing football in case they get tired?

They've played two games in the last fortnight!

If they played any less they might as well retire.

When Chelsea were out of Europe they won the league at a canter. When they rested players to finish 7th they won the champions league. Players burnout and get tired. How many times has Kompany and Vertonghen got injured on international duty?

The shake up is good because friendlies are notoriously boring, but so little reward busting a gut in this odd competition

Bad, before friendlies where teams can blood new players, or try new systems without fear of the sack have now become competative and stiffling because of it.

O'Neils defeat to wales has his job at risk where in the games last year on the calandor that were friendlies it would not have been, now preasure on the result will lead to less experentation.

And after croatia at weekend if we hadn't beat spain southgate wwould be being questioned also

But you can't keep playing weaker nations in friendlies just to keep your job. O'Neill is finished at Eire - a dead man walking.

They still train, they still have to learn a game plan, then they have to go out and perform at the highest level.
They are top level sportsmen, being asked to be in tip top condition all the time, no rest, no long weekends to chill out, finish one game and it’s right into preparation for the next.

It is good but you have to realise that it’s not going to go to plan every game, every week over a full season.
That’s a lot of competitive games.
