I would pick Nasri and Milner ahead of him.
I must admit, i was wondering the other day, after seeing Milner do that step-over and cross for Negredo's hat-trick... Is Milner (effectively our 'utility man') a better winger than Navas, the supposed specialist winger? I honestly think he's better at beating a man and creating space to get a cross in. Navas has shown flashes of what he can do, but i sincerely hope there's a lot more to come. He's frustrating to watch. He has all that pace but hardly uses it.

He does track back a lot though.

In all the minutes he has played for us I can't recall him ever actually taking a man on and getting past him, at best he runs in a line and makes a yard of space to whip in a pathetic cross. He looks uncomfortable on the ball and just passes sideways most of the time, would rather give a youth player a chance ahead of him, he has been pathetic so far.

You need players in the box and a bit of movement (whatever that is...)

Navas was the only player who looked arsed and did well today, did his job.

Yes. If we wanted a playmaker we shouldn't have spent money on Navas and surely the scouts knew that. Everyone knew that with Navas you get a player who is fast and puts crosses in. This is what he is, this is what he always has been. If there was a player with perfect crosses, perfect dribbling/always going past players, very fast speed and eyes of goals, then he wouldn't cost £15m.

There has always been tons of crosses from him, Kolarov and et all with no one being there in the penalty area. Aguero always goes back towards the edge for a pass since he's a bit too short to fight with the defenders. Then you end up with trying to hit Negredo, against 2-3 defenders.

I actually thought he played pretty well today, just didn't have enough to aim at. He offered far more threat than Milner, Yaya and Nasri combined

He did well, these are the games he's made for.

Problem is for these games you also need a speed threat on the left side as well to stretch them further. This is why the Rags do so well against these teams consistently, because the employ proper wingers.

We have one fucking winger at our club. This needs to change in order for us to be able to play more direct and beat shithouse bus parking teams away from home.

For any other team he would of got an assist today but we seem to have a squad unable to attack the box. Everyone just lines up around it waiting for it to be passed inside, I think we had at most two players in the box for crosses compared to 7 for sunderland.

Navas did his job, I can't say the same for our other players.

Granted he was more of a threat then Milner, but for me he doesn't actually do anything... Don't think I've ever seen him beat a man, and his crosses today were awful
