NBC (USA) show EVERY premier league game live all season!

Re: NBC (USA) show EVERY premier league game live all season

The Premier League and NBC have partnered with Fathom Events, which specializes in special and live events in movie theatres to bring one feature game weekly to a limited number of theatres across the United States this upcoming season:

hmm...

I wonder just how many Americans would turn up & buy tickets for this when it's streamed free on the internet & being shown on cable television?

- and as a Brit I can't see why I'd want to turn up at a cinema to see City being screened; I'd prefer to see it in a bar if I'm paying (for drinks etc)

still, if they've gone and done this deal I expect they've done their research beforehand and aren't going to lose their arses over it, especially if they're experienced in broadcasting these live sporting events.

I think it is a good idea, you would feel more like being in a block at the ground, kinda.
In fact i wanna go to one just to sample the atmosphere.

I guess it's just a way for theaters to fill capacity when they're normally unused. While I'd prefer to see matches in my local, in the very early am here in California, I'm not drinking much anyway, so I tend to watch them home. The mid-day Monday and weekday Prem matches, and Champions League, I nearly always watch at my bar.

However, there's something to be said for watching, say, the derby on an IMAX screen.

Re: NBC (USA) show EVERY premier league game live all season

LOL Nice. . .

I think they are working the "mass shared experience" angle trying to cash in on the tens of thousands that followed the World Cup in parks, city squares and stadiums across the country.

Technically, it's not streamed "free" on the internet unless one is already a cable/satellite subscriber. But I'm with you this would not be of much interest to my viewing habits, but I also imagine we're not the target audience here.

No, but I'd be comfortable watching VK deny that plump little oinker the ball for 90 minutes.
