NBC want two English games to be played in USA

Who cares how many fans we have in America or any team have in America.
It's the English premier league.
Played in England.
Fuck the Yanks.
Fuck playing any games anywhere apart from in England.
Trouble is this will happen.
When it does football is completely fucked
Assume you want all the foreign players, managers and owners out as well? After all we are in the English premier league

End of the day, we are on trajectory to having more fans in the US than in the UK.

United, Liverpool and Arsenal are probably already there.

Playing games in the US is an inevitable scenario.
I’d wait and see about European Super Leagues, wage-caps, playing-time thresholds, expanded competitions etc. and the effect they have on our wonderful ‘product’ before relying too much on the temporary preferences of coach-potatoes and sports-bar JCLs as a permanent and lucrative income-stream. As @r.soleofsalford said yesterday, all of the above ‘innovations’ are as likely to kill the golden goose as monetise it any further.

I don’t include all US-based fans in the above description, of course. Plenty spend a fortune coming to watch City, plenty are expats, plenty do amazing stuff expanding OSCs etc., but when the product gets so fundamentally altered as to redefine home and away fixtures the Premier League is going to have other European leagues with even fewer scruples about upsetting the domestic market as ours is to compete for a new, and possibly fickle, market Stateside.

City might get relegated in my lifetime. I might never see them come back up. Unless NBC scrap promotion / relegation, that is, without which domestic football loses its entire function.

I’m an American and even I think this would be grossly unfair. Pre-season games are fine. But nothing part of the regular schedule. Every single game is on tv here - it’s quite easy to watch. The only thing we’re missing is the in person atmosphere - but we’re not going to get that by watching City play in New Jersey.

Exactly. I can't understand why any foreign fan would want this. Watching the team you support in a league or cup game at home or away is for the experience of the atmosphere, right?; which you won't get in America - you'll get the American atmosphere which you can get at MLS or on of their other shite sports.

We do have some other decent sports! And some teams/locations with great atmospheres. But our biggest stadiums are also not built for football. Frankly, as someone in Boston I’d rather see a game at Fenway (a baseball stadium) than Gillette (an American football stadium).

Boston Sucks ;-)
Lets Go YANKEES!!!!!!

Was watching the build up to the CL QTR final second leg against Madrid, the hyper pitch side chap had american fans going on about how City's "their" team and they love the bantz with other fans.

What, in fucks' name, where these people doing there at one of our biggest games? My yank nephew and his wife were over last summer and were expecting to just be able to pay for tickets for the charity shield! No clue, no football culture. Many people have posted about the fa cup semi final being full of half n halfs too.

Not hard to see who clubs feel are their most important consumers.

“If you had a Manchester United v Chelsea match in New York or a Real Madrid v Barcelona in Miami, those levels of games in American cities — real games that count — it could be massive."

Not been following the Premier League this year then.

Wash your mouth out. That Europa Conference League spot is very much still up for grabs.
