NBC want two English games to be played in USA

A

We do have some other decent sports! And some teams/locations with great atmospheres. But our biggest stadiums are also not built for football. Frankly, as someone in Boston I’d rather see a game at Fenway (a baseball stadium) than Gillette (an American football stadium).
Well as someone who lives right next to Gillette, I would have to disagree...;). I can walk to games there. Like I walked to see Messi the other night...:) Fenway should be left for baseball. I saw City at Yankee Stadium back in 2013 and the pitch angle was all off because of the shape of baseball field. But I'm going there again this summer.

But do I want to see Premier League games over here? Not really. We already have great TV coverage of the games plus it will disadvantage whoever the home teams will be as they essentially lose a home game over the season.

If they want live competitive games then have an Fa Cup round be played there. Let the money be shared by all teams in that round equally. Or maybe the winner of each game gets a bonus that for the smaller clubs would be a massive a financial windfall.

If they made it a "socially beneficial" event maybe football fans who couldn't travel would be understanding.

Also it's not part of a season ticket.

Assume you want all the foreign players, managers and owners out as well? After all we are in the English premier league
I don't think he said anything even remotely like what you're suggesting.

The league, teams, stadiums and heritage is based in England. If you want to watch English teams playing live from the United States, board a plane, travel to England and watch the teams.

There is zero benefit to anyone aside from one; money. And it won't be the fans benefitting.

This is a prelude to the superleague and its a load of bollocks.Back in the day we had heard of of all the world stars but never got to see them apart from the World cup and Euros. They will want the big games as well not Bournemouth v Palace just imagine the derby being played at the soccerdome in Vegas. What the cartel owned by Yanks want is that genuine football fans will not stand for it,whats coming is Super league no relegation and a draft system. The reason football works so well in europe is the beauty that teams can go from the bottom league to the top and vice versa.Strange that the yanks want in to a game they have no chance of dominating. The sooner Utd,Arsenal,Dippers and joke club Spurs fuck off the better.I want to see City v Real Madrid twice a year not every other fucking week.
It's the Yank way - and is a real danger over here with Stretford, the Dippers and Arse all being Yank owned and basically getting their own way because other clubs just cow tow.
The new "spending model" should tell clubs all they need to know - less about caring, more about how much money they can take.
US owners couldn't care less about fans - take a look at the number of times teams are moved because a city has promised an owner a shiny new stadium.
Unfortunately the tipping point in terms of supporter importance either has, or will soon be reached. We simply don't spend enough, which is covered elsewhere.

End of the day, we are on trajectory to having more fans in the US than in the UK.

United, Liverpool and Arsenal are probably already there.

Playing games in the US is an inevitable scenario.
You are mistaking “fans” (people for whom winning and losing affects their weekend or the whole of the following week - people for whom had to be told the Munich Madrid game because they couldn’t give a shit as we were knocked out) and …. “Followers”. A good proportion of which will fuck off and support someone else when we go shit and would spend half the game with their back to it if they had a ticket so they get a fucking stupid selfie with them and the game going on in the background

Not sure if wumming or unwell.
Haha! I'm serious.
Whatever you want to happen as a fan, the reality is pl football will follow the money trail pathway, instead.
At least the prem tournies are an existing event that can be expanded on and made into actual games with points riding on.
The more I mull it over, the more sense it makes.
5 tournaments. 1 in every continent except Europe and Antarctica.
I claim my 5m quid consultancy fee now, pl.

Only people who live near Gillette like it! It’s a massive pain from the North Shore! And you’re right, no baseball stadium is ideal, but the closer quarters seem a little better for the overall environment.

You are right of course. Gillette is a massive pain in the arse both getting in and out. I feel bad for the people sitting in their stopped cars on Route 1 hours after the Pats/Revs/concerts are over.

So if you come to a game, feel free to park in my driveway. 15 minute walk to the stadium and out the back way to 95 where you don't have to deal with the traffic. So much easier. I do that for all my friends or family who come to a game.
