If it had just been the shield with no eagle, stars and motto, it would have been so much better
As for our current badge, it really should have been either the three stripes or the rose, not both
As for the Manchester bee, it's never been on our club badge, so if we introduce it now it would feel like we're bandwagon jumping
Bees were on the badges of shirts used in every domestic cup final and replay that we played in from 1926 to 1981 as the club coat of arms (same as Manchester coat of arms) was used as a crest and shirt badge in these games.
However, bees were never on the various club crests used since 1964 or on those crests used as shirt badges and I completely agree with the bandwagon sentiment.

The coat of arms on cup shirts didn't have the globe on it so we wouldn't have had bees on them even then surely

Without wishing to be a pedant, the three rivers are white on the badge.I remember when it was revealed and the only things I could find fault with was that it didn't say FC on it and that CITY is not curled around the edge like the rest of the words.
The 3 rivers are still on the badge, now represented in Sky Blue rather than red stripes.
I thought when released that it was great to finally get a proper City badge on the Kits that represented our heritage. 5 years on, I love it more than ever. If it never changes again, I'll be more than happy.
