What's the difference when the media refer to ADUG as "The Arabs" ?

but why do you persist in calling our manager "the italian"
has he pickpocketed you or something
He's winding up the softies who said it was "racist"

I know where you're going with that one as I remember starting the thread about it. To be honest, there's no difference. The media show their disdain for our owners by calling them the Arabs, and I show my disdain for Mancini by calling him the Italian. I only began doing it earlier in this thread (I think, although I'm on holiday so my have posted it in a red wine haze earlier) - and as I explained earlier in this thread, this situation with Neds has been a bit of a tipping point for me.
Whatever the rights and wrongs of Neds' interview, and whatever the rights and wrongs are of him being sold or moving on to further his career - I refuse to accept that Mancini (there, I used his name!) shouldn't hold some responsibility for the general unrest in the dressing room - and that that unrest isn't a good thing...

Why? Because it offends your sensibilities that I choose to call him the Italian? Pull the other one. You're not that soft-centred that something that tame bothers you.
Anyway, I respect your freedom to hold whatever opinion you choose about the Italian. But calling me a rag or a scouser because my opinion of him and the way he goes about his job is different to yours, is out of order as I said. And the Mike D/Scorer analogy is equally insulting. I haven't got the time or inclination today to go trawling through Bluemoon's archives - but I can tell you quite comfortably that I was excited when Mancini took over and have always had a high opinion of him as a manager. The worst I've called him is a "clown" earlier in this thread. That does not even come close to the Mike D's of this world. Again, something I'm sure you know is true deep down inside.
You know me well enough to know that I'm not about to go running because a few Bluemooners don't like what I've got to say. I'll stand up for myself if people start throwing baseless accusations around...

I assume this is aimed at me...
Fisrt of... I'm not a "softy". Does that mean those who fight racism are softies? You've obviously never seen marches by the BNP and the reactions against them.
Second... I would be interested in seeing where I said it was "racist". I said it was offensive, and many people are of the same view.
Thirdly... you clearly have no knowledge of Race legislation and how organisations deal with it. I stated, quite clearly, that in the organisation I work for such comments would be frowned upon and treated as disciplinary matters. That doesn't mean it's "racist".
There are legal definitions for racism. You should learn them.
Or maybe it's not a subject that overly concerns you...
