yes and he was strongly rumoured to be being transferred to everton and now he aint so for me it is THE best transfer news of a great transfer news summer, get over it

Great news, sends out a proper message to our academy players. We are signing quality players from our rivals as well as rewarding our own. In many ways it gives more pleasure to the fans to see one of "our own" make it.
Hughes is establishing quite a squad, with a great mix of eperience and youth, with the prospect of more players to join.

Bloody good point, and you can't really choose between them but for me there had been no hint that Ireland would be leaving in this window whilst the persistent (albeit strongly denied) rumours that Nedum would be going to Everton as part of the Lescott deal means that this just pips it for me.

Both brilliant news though.
 
Really good news, the owners are sticking to their dual pledge of keeping faith & rewarding players who have come up through the ranks & also adding to the squad with new signings.

Nedum has stayed loyal to us through out the years & has proved if he stays injury free he is quality player who in my view could get a world cup place.
