I'd love Stones to sign. I've only seen highlights of him so haven't watched him for a whole 90 mins and analysed his positioning and comfort on the ball. Is he ball playing defender who is happy to pass his way out of defence?
He doesn't pass. He dribbles.

I'm happy with Kompany, Otamendi and Denayer.
I think we need an upgrade on Mangala. Mangala has had 18 months and really hasn't looked close to a top defender. Stones still has a lot of improving to do defensively, but is potentially world class and would suit Guardiola's style, so I'd be happy for us to sign him.

He's the most composed centre back I've seen. Ever. In any league.
He could have the ball on the goal line and he'd dribble it past two players before passing it forwards, without a single nerve or care in the world. That's not to say he doesn't know when it needs to go straight to row Z, though.

I really can't see him leaving in January. Martinez isn't a fan of buying or selling halfway through the season and he's already come out and said nobody will be leaving. Unless you come in with scary money, it won't happen.
Summer is iffy. Again, the right bid could make it happen. I think you'd be looking to 2017 before he moves. I'm not going to fool myself by thinking he'll stay forever; he's going to be the best in the world. You're definitely going to be competing against Barca, too.

Ah no I don't expect us to be in for him in Jan, unless we feel we have to move now with Chelsea sniffing and like you said, I think there's little to no chance you'll sell in Jan, but yeah I'd love to test the water in the summer. What really impresses me from what I've seen of him is his decision making, he looks like an established experienced defender and he's what, 21?
I think he's exactly the CB Pep would love (if he is as expected going to come here).
