Demi is past it, whether through lack of games or age, he has shown he is the liability of his first few games. Hopefully he can nob off to Argentina with dignity and Denayer can come back - from injuries alone we can show he'd get game time

I agree that Stones or maybe someone like Varane would be ideal in the long-term, but I can't see us bringing anyone in until one of Vinny, Nico, Mangala, and Denayer leave. I think next season we'll see JD take MD's spot in the squad, maybe the year after that sell Mangala and buy Stones if he's still at Everton. Too many variables though really
Stones would be a phenomenal addition but I think Denayer is one guy that can develop into a top shelf defender. MDM is on his last legs so Denayer will be called upon to provide good defense in the not so distant future.

Agreed. We just need the manager to realise that you can't play gung ho when your best two defenders are out and we'll be fine. Our backups are better than most team's first choice players.Our central defense is probably the last area we need improvement in right now.

We need to sign John Stones,he'll be Vinnys successor and a future captain,we can't afford to let him slip through our nett,big regrets if we don't sign him him and smalling could be England's first choices for years to come....
i agree the way we play a centralldefender who is calm in possesion and an exellent defender is a must id offer mangala and money for him .

I agree with this. We have 4 good options most clubs would take any 2 of them over what they have got.
Demi is rusty but any 4th choice player who gets only the occasional run out is going to be like that. Demi was great last year and with a run in the team he could get back to a decent standard however I expect him to sit out a lot this season and leave in the summer. Denayer in next season who should be hungry to play and would sit well in that 4th choice slot and also covering RB and CDM.
