The main point about stones,is that he's English, we need as many English players in the team as is possible.
The fans have more identity with English players and if we get the best available,if there good enough then we can build a future team around more English players,less chance of becoming mercenaries.
I would love to see stones at city,if he ends up at the rags or Chelsea it would be a big loss... an English spine or under belly would give us an edge that we don't have at the moment,not so long ago we had,Hart, Richards, lescot,milner,Barry, Johnson, something that's missing at the moment,...

i dont think you have to have world class players in every position tbh, i think our defenders are more than good enough, we just need to work better as a team and defend as a team.

We have real problems at the back with 30+ full backs with too many injuries and Kompany seems part time and has done so for the past two seasons. We need another quality centre back and two new, young full backs. I also doubt that Fernando is good enough for the Premiership. He has the odd good game but we need someone with more to their game than the odd tackle.

Think Virgil Van Dijk looks a very good prospect as well.
Young, very cool on the ball against City last week, brought it out comfortably and is two-footed.
As good as Stones and has played alongside Denayer previously.
Couldn't help but be impressed with him last week.

Aye he's great on the ball. Shit defender though. Denayer was absolutely miles ahead of him last year in terms of actual defending ability

We don't need different defenders, its how we're set up defensively. Fuck knows what their doing on the training ground during the week but it ain't no defensive shape and if they are its fucking wrong (lies with coaches/pellers). Look at us under Mancini. we hardly conceded 1 in a game, nether mind 2s 3s 4s. 4-1 Liverpool, 4-1 spurs, Saturday could of been 5 easily. I wouldn't mind if we were banging them in, but recently its about 1 shot a game. Something needs to change because its going stale fast and if rags/arse manage to pip us in the weakest prem for ages we've fucked up royally. Not acceptable to be honest.
