Kompany injury may mean we make a move in January. If signed in January could Stones play in Champions League?

Ah no I don't expect us to be in for him in Jan, unless we feel we have to move now with Chelsea sniffing and like you said, I think there's little to no chance you'll sell in Jan, but yeah I'd love to test the water in the summer. What really impresses me from what I've seen of him is his decision making, he looks like an established experienced defender and he's what, 21?
I think he's exactly the CB Pep would love (if he is as expected going to come here).
You boys happy with Martinez? You're much improved this season on the last IMO.
Overall, yeah, but Martinez has his flaws. For whatever reason, he flat out refuses to drop Howard and it's doing everyone's nut. We have a perfectly good, young goalie in Joel, who has been brilliant every time he's played, but he can't get a game. It's even more annoying that Martinez signed him for Wigan, and then again for us.
We need to be more ruthless. We should be fourth or better, but the three consecutive draws we had were a direct result of us dominating games and not killing them off. However, we're playing some great stuff and with the core of players we've got (Lukaku, Barkley, Stones, Deulofeu) we're in a good place. We just need to hold on to them.
played very well for the most part yesterday. Hope you're all really tired when it comes to the cup semi, as you're favourites to anyone whose watched the 2 sides in the past month or two.
Problem is it took us the entire game to score. Like I said, we can dominate games frequently but we do not go for the throat. Given that we're really missing Jagielka and McCarthy for defence, you're guaranteed to score. It's whether we feel like scoring too.
Have you seen us trying to defend?
