Negredo

I like Pellers my respect for him has grown but keeping Negredo and Aguero on the pitch after half time was stupid, if Negredo is out for any length of time he must personally take the blame, he still has a bit to learn about the English game

I seriously hope he isn't out for a lengthy period of time.

What he gives us over the other strikers is work rate off the ball and the will to come into midfield when we are out of possession, this is vital in enabling us to play our 442 system because without it we would struggle immensely.

We only have to look back to the Bayern Munich home game when Dzeko and Kun lead the line, both didn't want to drop into midfield and it left our midfield immensely exposed, this is what is going to worry me with Spurs and Chelsea coming up if Negredo is out for a long period of time.

If he is out for Barca then for me the dream is over, going into that game with no Negredo and Nasri and without a striker willing to drop into midfield we will get battered, and I don't see Pellegrini dropping a striker for a midfielder to compensate for it.

Shame but these things happen, not too worried I know it would be better to have a fully fit squad all through the campaign but that is why it so much a squad game. If worst came to it play one up top which would be Aguero and pack the midfield I don't see a problem. Looks like he will be back for Chelsea anyway. Still annoying. :-(

Get over yourself with this "the dream is over" nonsense. Bayern beat them 7-0 in aggregate last year FFS. I am not saying it will be easy, far from it. But IF, yes IF Negredo is not fit by then, we still will give it a bloody good go.

Why do so many people feel the need to post "I suspect the injury is xyz" with zero evidence to go on?

I know it's a forum but groundless medical speculation constitutes neither debate nor information. It's just a waste of bandwidth.

End of moan.

Personally I blame Tomkins and Negredo himself.

Crazy to blame a manager for a player getting injured because he didn't take him off.

Like blaming him for not taking off Nasri against Newcastle at half time.

Poor substitutions when the game is in on the line yes but not for yesterdays injury to Negredo thank you.

He could have done a Jovetic and got injured in the 7th minute and you have said he shouldn't have started.

What a cheery lad you are...

Speaking of Twitter, a lad says his mate spoke to Negredo at Bridgewater, and that he was fuming and said it'd be 2 months. Unsubstantiated rumour and a very unsettling one.

He will be a big miss, but lets hope Jovetic can steal the show now and score some important goals.

Don't write him off for Spurs just yet.

Wait until we hear more.

We knew Nasri was going to miss 6-8 weeks this time after the Newcastle game and I think the fact we haven't heard much yet even from the press suggests

good news.
