Not according to this.
But that doesn't say there not in the squad it just says negredo has a shot and Navas has been injured so we'll have to see.

Sorry that's what I meant, should have quoted the poster that said they were omitted.

Harsh if he gets dropped, not had a chance to play. Don't know why he was left out against Bolivia. Surely he deserves a start to show what he can do. Went to the confeds cup and did well for them. Navas very unlucky to get injured at the wrong time normally a del bosque favorite coming off the bench. I bet they both are very dissapointed.

So Negredo, Spain's best striker looks set to miss out. Mainly due to that Brazilian coont Costa stealing a place. If he leaves Navas out an all that would be ridiculous - he gives Spain such a different dynamic and had a massive impact in the confeds cup

Isn't Navas injured? Was sure I've heard that he's not 100% and that's the reason he's on the bubble.

Would be stunned if Negredo was left out. Has to be chosen ahead of Torres. Torres has been awful for more than 2 years. They can't go to Brazil without him IMO. Costa not going to be fit for the first couple games at least. Leaves them only with Torres, who again has been shit. Even if they play the 4-6-0 they need a plan "B" and Negredo has been the only striker that's played well for them in the last year or so.

Llorente, Villa, Jesus Navas and Negredo have been cut from Spain World Cup squad according to Cadena Cope

Wow, who'd say that after his first part of the season. He had guaranteed place back then. Still strange to see Torres in front of him though.

So, that's Kolarov, Nastasic, Clichy, Nasri, Navas, Jovetic, Garcia and Negredo without World Cup. That might be an advantage over our rivals next season, it's probably the biggest number of important players that will miss the WC from any of top 4-5 clubs.

Excellent news for us......not so good for them!

Yup, more reason to really kick on and stamp our mark on this league next year, a proper 6+ point winning gap.

Navas is a surprise omission because if he's now fit, he is one of Spain's very best impact players and one of the last people you want to see come on against you at 60 minutes with fresh legs. Negredo is less surprising given his injuries and horrendous form since West Ham, but Costa is injured (and Brazillian) and Torres is shite, so he probably still should have gone.

To be fair I'm almost certain Navas hasn't gone because of injury.

Yep, I have heard this also that he is carrying some kind of injury. Gutted for him probably would've been the last World Cup for him, because he is 32 for 2018 WC not impossible but very unlikely to get to next WC squad.

Very harsh to drop him in favour of Torres. I know he's not scored for a while but he wasn't fit for a few months and during the last 2 months of the season when he was actually fit, he was only getting 5-10 minutes at the end of games to try and score.

Ah welll, at least he'll be fresh and ready for the new season now.

Is this all official ?

Navas has been very important to Spain recently as the plan B. He always seems to be the one they turn too if things aren't going according to plan. I can only presume they are unsure of his fitness.

Negredo although bang out of form is surely a better bet than Costa who has been injured ?

Out of the European teams they are probably the strongest candidates but I cannot see Spain winning the World Cup. Even with David Silva in the side and if both Negredo and Navas were included in their squad, At least we have a couple more fresher players for the season.

Great news for us, he suffered from not having his usual winter break so needs a good rest over the summer.

Both hardly played in the last dozen games so not a surprise they were omitted.

Navas just getting over an injury and Negredo went from prolific to not being able to hit a barn door after the West Ham injury.

I rate them both very highly and hope they have something to prove next season if they stay at City.

Disagree. Bad for a player's motivation. If he had a good World Cup he could come back happy and excited to play for us. Now though, especially if he doesn't start the first few matches, he will be feeling very agitated.

Protecting himself from West Ham onwards has cost him there. Stopped putting himself about, which is what makes him the footballer he is.
