Well they smoke it excessively and they have 'friends' coming and going so it really wouldn't surprise me but today is the first day that it's really got into our house with all the windows closed.
Report it as a statutory nuisance to your council environmental health. They have to maintain anonymity and will also involve the police.
I work for a section of the council, so might ask around work tomorrow, see what they can do.

I had a similar problem some years ago when the house next door was rented to some young brothers.It actually smelt like it was coming through the floor boards.
I mentioned it in passing one day as a slight compliant and all I got in return was sorry mate but it's legal personal use.
Mentioned it once more same reply.
Next day phoned police, landlord and council. admittedly it took a few phone calls to all of them but they got kicked out in a couple of months.
Thing is they will most likely know that one of the neighbours will have complained, I told them I would if they didn't cut it down so it's up to you if you want to mention it first, obviously with a young family it's a worry what trouble it may cause, it was just me and my lad here by then so I wasn't that bothered.

Do you know them to speak to? Or get on with them?
Had similar issues myself in rented accommodation. My advice would be to speak to them about it, just knock on the door at a time when you are calm and just discuss that it's been going on a while, and can they smoke it somewhere away from the house.
Or if you want to go with a more direct approach, have a stronger word while they are doing it out the back. You could coincidentally be doing some DIY or cooking at the time, and have a hammer or rolling pin in your hand when you go out.
If you don't like confrontation or they're total cunts, might be worth speaking to the police about it. But make sure you tell them you've seen people going in there daily and exchanging deals on the doorstep. They'd soon be round there.

Grass haha get it. mmmhhhhmmmIn all my time on here, it's my first time doing a thread like this, so take it easy but think it's the last straw tonight.
We have neighbours that excessively smoke weed and it's starting to become a problem for us, I'm talking every hour of the day (when we get up, when we get in from work etc...) but tonight has been by far the worst. All the windows in our house are closed and yet our house absolutely stinks of the stuff, it's on our clothes, on us and starting to affect the young people in the house, irritating eyes, plus we're worried about further issues it could cause.
It's bad enough when we're trying to dry our clothes on the back and they spark up not far from where they're hanging but they're harmless and it's only weed, so we just get the clothes in and dry them inside.
However, I draw the line at the young ones not being able to sleep because their eyes are starting to get irritated.
I fully accept that some on here who partake in it won't see it as a big deal but for us it's definitely going too far.
Anyone dealt with anything like this before? What's the best course of action?
They rent the house, so is it best speaking to their landlord?
Speaking to them (which could cause tension down the line if it ends up needing to be reported)?
Or just anonymously report them?

Snitching is bitching ... Don't report it.
Here's what you can do OP
1. Knock their door and let them know how its effecting your family.
2. Suggest they buy a dehumidifier which will remove the pong.
3. Make some home made snacks, go round and give them sone.. I.e. friendly neighbourly snacks. Get on their good side. Then inform them.
4. If option 1-3 don't work.... Report to council
