'A few', I would disagree with that and I think Joe has now also acknowledged himself that he's been going too far down the conspiracy theorist loony tunes type vibe on his show. He's had Alex Jones on there a few times, which whatever - but the guy is a complete psycho.

I found some of the talking points with Jordan Peterson pretty disturbing this week as well such as the whole rant over 'whether someone is technically black'.

Hard to know what Rogan gets out of putting someone like Alex Jones on his show, whether it's for his own amusement or maybe just capture some of that audience. Whatever his reasoning for it is, Jones is a pretty dangerous person and is quite clearly mentally disturbed to a degree.

You dont get it - people like Alex Jones have no right to be heard. He has ideas that are offensive and disgusting and have no place in a civilised society. He has his own platform and if you want to listen to BS you can tune in to that. He is banned from pretty much every respectable platform for good reason. Spotify let him sneek on here as a guest and they dropped the ball. They wont do it again.

I've long concluded that's just Darwin in action picking off the stupid. Covid is doing some nasty things to society, because the decision to not have the vaccine is in many cases potentially more detrimental to others around them than the person making that choice. This leads us to a situation where anti- vaxers are persecuted rather than just ignored or laughed at as would be the case if they espoused other conspiracy stuff. That persecution comes from fear, as does the anti-vax sentiment. I've come across 3 anti vaxers out of about 100 folk where I work. The two who I know to talk to well are genuinely terrified of the vaccine and sense the world closing in around them as various freedoms (and some of our work opportunities) become the sole prevail of the vaccinated. Not a representative sample, but if these two, one is way below average intelligence, and the other has a serious recent history of psychosis. I get frustrated with them, but their fear is genuine if not rational. I guarantee that anything like this Spotify spat or other censorship they will pounce on as proof of a grand conspiracy.

Did you see any of rogans Alex Jones stuff? It actually exposes Jones quite cruelly I think rather than gives him a platform. I watched one part of one several 3-4hr things Rogan has done with him and it's tragic. Jones hit the whiskey, becoming more uninhibited and blurting out one conspiracy after another while Rogan and his wing man pretty much took the piss. I saw Jones as the dangerous info wars ranty bloke before, but after this I see him now as just a loon. The fact that Rogan just gently teases the bullshit out was no platform for Jones really. If anything that show should be removed for mocking the mentally ill rather than giving Jones a platform.

True. I was trying to think of a recent parallel and the best I can come up with is the thing about MMR. Iirc there were similar issues - the unvaccinated potentially caused a resurgence of almost eradicated disease, but I suppose the difference is they only endangered themselves. It originated from some debunked research, passed into urban myth of sorts and then just petered out as the original claims/research became more discredited. The bullshit was exposed rather than eradicated I think
