I'm with Rascal on this.

He helped manoeuvre South Africa rom one of the bloodiest, most repellent regimes on earth to a genuine democracy with the minimum of bloodshed and he then ensured that its democratic roots remained strong.

It is far from a perfect country but I have yet to see anyone argue how the transformation could have been handled any better.

The BBC just called his campaign "disruptive". Jesus.
