It’s a net spend table, so if you make more than you spend it’s shown as a minus.

I suppose it could just as easily be shown the other way round but if someone says a club has a net spend of £10m, most people would think they’ve spent £10m more than the got in sales. Logically then, where a club bring in more than they spend it needs to be shown as a minus.
