Netflix plans

Nothing Nerdy about it. A lot of people sign up to these things without realising its Illegal and end up on the wrong end of fines. and when your paying for an illegal service there's a solid paper trail back when the streamers get hit. Unless your buying pre paid credit cards with cash and using them.

By all means take the risk. but better to be aware of the risk than not.

I’m not illegally streaming anything. When the IPTV lot got sentenced, one had possession of child porn.

I don’t steal from Asda. I pay my bills.

Id say if you had Netflix/Apple/Disney/Amazon/Paramount why would you even want to bother with Sky.... if it wasn't for the fact that my Broadband was linked to it for now I'd be killing sky. there's only 1 channel we watch that we cant get online(Alibi). the second that changes Sky's gone.

Also, just pay for what ever service for a month or 2 at a time, binge what you wanna watch then shut it down.

Apple, Im on my 3rd 6 month free trial, never paid for it but seen everything I want from it.
I’m just making the example mate I’m as tight as ducks arse or as I term it careful with my money, like you I’ve never paid for Apple constant free trials, Disney all at a reduced rate fucked sky off over a decade ago, but your average person doesn’t know about those things and it’s easier just to keep on paying inflated prices.

Addressed above. LEDs are getting better and it Maybe superb but its not got true HDR. HDR needs per pixel lighting, if you cant get that a lot of dimming zones can help to allow small areas of the screen to be lit more than others but still not true HDR.

99.9% of LED tvs on the market just cant get close to HDR.
My LG Nanocell TV is over 2 years old and believe me, HDR on it is astonishing.

Everyone knows its illegal. Police couldn't give a shit about the bottom end user, they barely care about the top. Even the big story you saw in the news recently was a private prosecution and they got way too big for their boots and did absolute pants on head stupid things like register themselves as a company with HMRC.

Worst you'll get is a warning letter from your ISP, like a 1% chance which can be avoided completely with a VPN.

What's criminal is how much Sky BT and all the ever expanding Streaming platforms try and charge!

I'm sacking it off. Paying for four screens but I can only use those screens if they are being watched from the IP assigned to my home router? Fuck off. I paid for the screens. Don't have any money for any screens if that's how you're playing.

When you say alot , could you quantify that ? How many people do you know have been fined ?

I know loads that have had letters ( mostly when using P2P stuff ) and I know a couple of people who have been fined for downloading games and movies.

And I think you overestimate the knowledge of the general public with regards to what is / isn't illegal with this regards.

Either ways, as I say. its not about me saying don't do it. its about educating people that it is, Its no skin off my nose if people do it or not.

quantify "a lot of people" sign up without knowing its illegal? no i cant quantify that, its based on discussions i've had in the past with people who used dodgy fire sticks and were persuaded they were kosher by the people selling the services. Mostly older generations, My parents mates levels. they were actively pusuaded by the people selling them that they were on the up and up.

I knew plenty of people who bought R4 cartridges back in the day for Nintendo DS/3DS levels who had no clue the were breaking the law downloading games. again mostly in the boom where DS's moved into the non gamer market.

I know about 15 who have had letters from ISP's. 2 have been fined. however if thats a fine by Police or a fine by "we're are lawyers for film company x, we know you have downloaded y, pay up or we prosecute" is not something i know. All of those were around the time that P2P services boomed as without a VPN your wide open.

Yeh I meant that had actually been fined , as although I know its illegal , in my eyes only the distributors are in real risk currently
