Never a red card

Take of your blue tinted glasses he was being fouled but reacted by striking out,Huth just had his arm outstretched and didn't strike out, you can try and blame the ref all you like but we had our chances well before this and didn't take them the players have only themselves to blame.

Hugh J!

Time for Brian Kidd to get in front of the cameras, so there is NOTHING lost in translation (and have the Sheikh bankroll the inevitable fine!!). Kidd needs to ask "WTF has happened to football in this country?!" When Stoke, who mug players and refs EVERY FUCKING week are getting players sent off right left and center (that is 3 players in 4 games against them AND WE WON THE FAIR PLAY LEAGUE AND HAVE THE MILDEST MANAGER IN THE LEAGUE!).

Delap mugs SWP and then gives him one while he is on the ground, SWP protects himself by STROKING Delap's leg: Red Card!

Shawcross trips Vieira and follows up on top of him while he is on the ground and he kicks out in protection: Red Card!

Shawcross mugs Adebayor, is pulling his arm back and his shirt, Ade reaches back to shrug him off (arm being pulled, don't forget!): Red Card!

Bellamy mugged by Huth as he sprints across the box for a ball, held back by an arm across the throat......Not a fucking thing!!

Mascherano almost breaks Barry's ankle while already on a yellow: Not a fucking thing!

Brian Kidd needs to ask a few hard questions and ALSO mention that just because the team has a new owner who has bought some players does NOT mean that everyone gets to take a pot shot at City!!

Fucking disgusted at what is passing for top class football in this country. City TRYING to play football, but there are about 6 teams in the league who have absolutely no interest in playing football and it SEEMS that those same teams are BUILT TO INTIMIDATE, INJURE AND BEAT UP ON other teams.

Seriously, WTF is going on?!

Reserving judgement on this. When I first saw it I thought "Are you KIDDING?!!" Then saw it again in slow motion and thought " He went for his face."

Need to see it again.

If it WAS a valid red then it was by the letter of the law. Something that needs to be applied on a more consistent basis. And that is the problem, because it isn't.

He wasn't sent off for the physical contact, he was sent off because he is Emanuelle Adebayor. Disgraceful decision.

That's one of the softest red cards I've ever seen - and at Stoke as well where physical games are the absolute norm and their players regularly dish out far worse and get away with it. What a big girls blouse Ryan Shawcross turns out to be as well.

Anyway it means that we're out of the cup and without another striker against Chelsea. Happy Days.
