Blue waterfall truly the greatestMay I throw in Monroes and the Blue Waterfall to the roll of honour. Both establishments once visited never forgotten.

No the ****, but he was a good laugh.I'm guessing he didn't let you buy him one after that either!
Yeah, actually I think I recall the G&D burning down in an unfortunate fire, though I could be mistaken. Spent most of my time further down, between the Grapes and the Bull.
The Blue, what a place that was, needed your wits about you in there. What about the County Club/Jacobean, chicken in the basket and Hermans Hermits.May I throw in Monroes and the Blue Waterfall to the roll of honour. Both establishments once visited never forgotten.
It was The Grove Inn that was burned down, long after it had closed down though, think it was to speed up the creation of about a dozen flats.
It's as though you two have been strolling through my past, grew up in HG and spent many nights in all the pubs you have mentioned, settled eventually for the Tunnes/Grapes. The Boo was great to have locally for the late drink and to round off the night with a good battle on Commercial Rd. Good shout for Acton Court and grab a gran nights, also the Sportsmans Evenings, attended some crackers there.
The Offerton lot tended to use the boozers between the Anchor and the G&D, we weren't keen on them venturing any further south, ruffians.
After watching Us demolish leeds 6-1 at Maine Road in The Full Members Cup on a freezing cold October evening in front of 4029 fans, I managed to get back to The George and Dragon Hotel in Altrincham for the last hours drinking. Right on last orders I noticed a smallish gentleman who'd just come into the building bedecked in a City tracksuit and who plotted up at the bar, it was only Our hat-trick scoring hero from that evening Gordon Davies on his home debut. Without hesitation I was there offering a celebration drink and wanting to know a lot more. This hotel was to be his temporary home while he settled in at City. A nicer man you couldn't wish to meet and most days after training I would be in the said abode helping him demolish his big plate of sandwiches. Was guest of former striker Gordon Davies before the Fulham FA Cup game this season which included being invited into the executive lounge, while Gordon was outside doing his talk on CitySquare I somehow built up the courage to approach Colin Bell, who was sitting down in the side room we were in just off the Tunnel Club entrance, you could not wish to meet a more unassuming man, a real gentleman. We spoke for about 5-10 minutes in which The King told me he’d never change the era he played in but would of happily accepted the pitches & wages. To say I was star struck is an understatement. Also in the room were Tony Book, Stan Horne and Mike Summerbee so not bad company.
For the record Gordon Davies is a top top fella too who grew up a City fan, had trials at City when he was 14 and eventually signed in 1985.
