Think they've missed the boat with us. Definitely the geordies thoughIf they've changed the rules there is only one reason why.......to help the Red Shirts and to try and hinder us and the Toon!

That is so hard for anyone to assess though.the sponsorship fair value mechanism Is yet to play out.
Legal AlienThat is so hard for anyone to assess though.
Take Etihad Airways, how many people had heard of them before they sponsored us?
My sister lives in the States and said the same thing, but now their name is known all over and it's associated with us as we're on TV every week there.
For Etihad, i would've thought the publicity they've received, has got to be worth the money they've spent.
Yeah i know mate.Legal Alien
I agree it’s almost impossible. But if the ‘committee’ who make the judgements are led by the istory boys then decisions are made, appeals follow and it becomes another part of the game to make our life a bit more difficult.
I wish I could share your positivity on this, and did used to, but I’ve been stung too many times with it.We must be squeaky clean, or we would have been found out long ago, so I don't see how any new rule makes Manchester city lose any sleep, also having pep on board gives us another stick to beat them with because he knows the dirty on the big 2 Spanish clubs and told Barcelona chairman to be careful what you say,
Manchester city generate our own money now and the club turn over is one of the best in Europe, plus we have the added joker card of being debt free, we all knew FFP and UEFA were looking in past revenue and tried to make something stick,
I see it as everybody of the elite clubs are bent to the core, but we hold a couple of joker cards in pep and knowing stuff about Barcelona and Spanish football having Liverpool settle out of court after being found out they were taping into our accounts,
it's better having some shit on others for back up
No chance of anything coming out of this. If they had anything tangible on City it would have been released by now if not years ago.Legal Alien

The PL FFP investigation hangs over the club like a dark cloud, with too many vested interests from our rivals to let it lie. You’ve got the president of La Liga openly stating more has to be done to regulate ‘state’ clubs in football, to name but two examples of potential issues/damages to our business model & brand on the horizon. They will always be out to get us, and we have to box clever, or they will.
Absolutely. When Qatar Airways sponsored the weather report on Sky News, their brand awareness rocketed by 70%. And that's just on a UK channel. Being seen globally, as the leading PL clubs are, must have done even more for Etihad. That is so hard for anyone to assess though.

A good example. Only Etihad know what it is worth to them, but the experts will compare similar deals. Senseless in my view. That is so hard for anyone to assess though.

Very true. City are way past that point and have been for seven or eight years.I think we have had so many issues that we automatically think it is aimed at us.
However, I think it is aimed at Newcastle

It may be primarily aimed at Newcastle United but also any other club with potential such as Everton, Villa, Leeds, etc being taken over by someone with serious resources.
Far from being aimed at us, it’s aims are to help the cartel fight against us (PSG & others) with the increase to losses etc, dressed up as help through the pandemic, they didn’t have any other choice, now we have arrived & posting profits the easiest way to combat us is to allow clubs to spend more by running up more debt, they’ve done nothing to regulate debt & leveraged buy-outsHonestly, I think it is a fairly balanced set of proposals. I don't think we can say it is aimed at us any more than any other established club. If it was aimed at us, they could have included restrictions on multiple club ownerships, and not have favoured equity investment over borrowings.
Developing clubs may have a problem, but the allowable losses have increased (and investments in infrastructure, youth football and women's football can still be made) as long as they are supported by equity, so owners with money can hopefully develop a club.

I think they should of made leveraged buyouts time sensitive, with a limit on how long you saddle a club with debt. As you say covid highlighted many things around the financials in football as does the lack of CL football, the Rags have suffered with both, instead of paying for their mismanagement they will be given a leg up as they are good for viewing figures etc. long term la liga have done the right thing for their league, basically seeing the error of their ways, they had to be seen to do something, but we are talking about a governing body in Uefa doing lessThe debt payments go against FFP calculations, so any debt needs to be affordable in theory.
Debt is normal with business and doesn’t necessarily show a bad model. As is owner investment.
However Covid did show how current turnover cannot always be taken for granted and La Liga did show their teeth on this with Barca (especially when we expected them to ignore it to keep Messi in).
What would you have suggested they do.
They did vote for PL FFP but they weren't one of the letter writersReally hope it fucks Everton over, they were one of the shithouses who voted for ffp at the time. Oh and then were fully paid up members of the turd clubs that wrote to the PL about us.
Didn't realise that Blue. They did vote for PL FFP but they weren't one of the letter writers
