New City Pub To Open Inside the Stadium

The couple of times I've done Legends and the one time I've done the Mancunian the people in there seemed like normal families or groups of fans treating themselves to a special experience for a special occasion, such as Dad's 60th birthday or something like that.

I didn't notice any "corporate" suits or Gordon Gecko tycoon types but maybe I didn't look hard enough.

The pub looks great but its sad that the only time most ordinary fans will set foot in the place is on a stadium tour.

I went to the NFL at Spurs stadium a few months ago and the facilities there are incredible. Its got its own Beavertown microbrewery on site, the longest bar in Europe (apparently) and loads of food options which are accessible for all fans. I have to say it is impressive. It'll be interesting to see if City or other clubs look to replicate.

I don't know if it would be feasible with planning permission etc but if City replaced the Summerbee bar with a much bigger, permanent fan pub I'm sure it would popular. It would certainly make the match going fans feel more connected to the club than a pub in some fancy corporate area of the stadium they're never going to get to enjoy.

Would be nice if a pub was actually built on land outside and big enough to accomodate a fair few fans

Genuine question saw all this stuff at spurs ground last season thought to myself impressive but not something I would use myself, would you use any of it if we went all spursey?

Didn't realise it was special admission only, bit of a fucking stupid decision! Maybe they'll open it to ST holders after a few empty games?

I'll be honest I hardly ever go to City square for pre match. There's some nice pubs in Ancoats so I usually go there if I'm having a few drinks. If we had something like you've described I'd happily head there most weeks.

I would mate. The last time I got a burger in the ground at City they told me it would be five minutes and had me waiting for 15. I haven't bothered since!

I was in the Family Stand Level 2 for the CL & Southampton League Cup games and at one I noticed that the majority of the executive boxes in the East Stand were unoccupied. I asked the club about this and they said these were all largely paid for but not used. I think the same principle should apply to these as to season tickets in that if they're not used enough we should close them down and turn them into open facilities like the Commonwealth Suite and this new Ardwick Pub.

"Open" facilities that are restricted to 80 or so rich fans?
