Being behind celtic at this stage is comical. A woeful performance thus far that in all honesty deserves to see us eliminated. However, the new format in its desire to see as few upsets as possible has given us ample opportunity to scrape through.
Top 8 is now mathematically impossible to achieve. Realistically, beating psg would see us qualify, they wouldn't be able to catch us and only Stuttgart would have any chance, stuttgart have Bratislava next which you'd fancy them to win but interestingly their last game is against PSG. That's quite probably going to be a huge game that could see them battle one another for the last qualifying spot.
If we lost to PSG. A win against club brugge in the last game would likely still see us through on 11 points.
Looks like there will only be 4-5 teams going into the last set of fixtures with a spot to grab/lose. We will likely be one of them, club brugge might be another, they play juve next but a win there and they'll be qualified already so we could quite easily see the unusual scenario of us needing a win last game and club brugge fielding a weakened side with nothing to play for.
Also need to remember with so many teams having nothing but position at stake in the last game and widespread changes expected, there could be some weird results too.
Also worth noting that whilst we now don't play again until late January, any potential new signings we make in the new year won't be eligible to play the last 2 league games, we'll be stuck with whoever is fit from the current bunch.
