New home shirt (confirmed)

Just taken delivery of the £90 home shirt and it is absolutely brilliant. I would go so far as to say my favourite ever City shirt. The badge is out of this world, the quality is amazing and looks absolutely stunning. I like the dark blue sleeves as I like the contrast of dark blue and light blue and it gives some additional character and design to the shirt. The attention to detail and technical quality of the shirt is also like nothing I have seen before. The dark vent down the side actually expands to reveal white webbing which presumably helps the skin to breathe. There's also tiny holes on the back I presume tomake it more breathable

I simply do not understand the moaning about the shirt, when I think back to the Kappa shirt the year we went up that was made in one size and simply drowned Paul Dickov and made out of sackcloth.

I would urge anyone to save the extra from somewhere and go for the £90 shirt. If you're rather portly I would think you would need to go a size bigger than you would normally as it is quite figure hugging, in fact the 'supporter' shirt might suit you better if you are a large frame as it has that extra 'give; in it and seems to be designed for that purpose.

Sun is out and I'm proudly wearing the new shirt, it's immense.

Reads like an advert.

I would gladly pay extra if they could come up with some sort of material that doesn't stain when my lad spills sauce down it the first day he wears it.

Ketchup last year.

Nando's hot the year before.

I'm expecting the 2016 spillage next week...

Somerhing like teflon maybe? but for sport

Firstly, the moaning isn't really about the shirt... it's that the socks and shorts combination are just not City!

Secondly, i'm glad you like the badge, to me however I didn't like the rubber badge on the £90 shirt, I have a feeling it will soon be coming away with a few washes – for the dearer shirt I would have expected a nice embroidered badge to be honest

Personally I would say embroidered is old hat when you can have the quality and definition that this badge provides. It's almost like saying you should go back to an analogue telly compared to HD. You are never going to get the same clarity with an embroidered badge. That's just my opinion. Obviously if it does come off in the wash then that's a different matter but I'm not going to moan about that unless it happens.

Personally, I hate all the negativity when the club try and move us forward. With the attitudes of some on here, nothing would ever progress or change. Many people simply don't like change. I have a father in law who goes to the same hotel, in the same resort, year in, year out, he knows what he likes and sees no reason for change. I can't think of anything worse it would be like groundhog day. On reality it's simply different personality types. The club can't possibly begin to satisfy all those different types.

I actually think the dark blue contrast on the shirt is good, stops the shirt looking washed out and makes it stronger. I have no particular loyalty to white shorts either, its the overall aesthetic that I'm bothered about and with this shirt, white shorts wouldn't work. Instead, they have introduced white socks which I do think works with this kit.

As I say, it's the best quality football shirt I've ever bought.

Is it more tight than normal?

In the replica shirt I think there is plenty of space but if you go with the players shirt it is intended to be quite tight fitting so you may want to think about the size larger. Depends how you want to wear it.

Last season was the one for me. I bought the sky blue home shirt for both boys. We were going away for a week or so to Prestatyn, Southport and Blackpool (couldn't afford abroad so did a tour of my childhood holidays). We'd put the shirts away for the holiday but when the Premier League opening weekend arrived, I was really excited and buckled, allowing them to put them on for the match and then back in the case for the trip away.

I'd looked forward to City's trip to West Brom all weekend and had had a rough day in work delivering the induction. I ate my tea, cleaned the kitchen and got showered before settling down with a few bottles of Nelson. Crisis! The programme was about to start when I realised I hadn't brought my bottle opener through so went to the kitchen for it.

The 8 year old lad was in there and as I walked in, looked rather sheepish and put his hands behind his back. I asked what he'd been up to and he meekly told me he'd painted his finger nails orange. As this information registered, I noticed he'd splashed the fucker all down his new shirt and now had orange flecks down the front of his brand new top. I went radio rental and sent him to his room, legging it up three times to shout a little bit more when one telling off hadn't calmed me down sufficiently.

After a while I calmed down but when the teams came out, I couldn't resist. I asked the eldest why we were playing in our sky blue and white away kit. They were both baffled and said it was the home kit that City were playing in. I started ranting again shouting "I thought the home shirt had bastard orange flecks down it!" Gobshites all of 'em.

making our kit look like pyjamas isn't moving us forward, the kit looks terrible, in different light tones the sleeves go from navy to grey, I have felt it in the shop and it's quality is cheap and like the tat we were served up in the 2000's, I am open to inivation in all aspects of the club, but the kit is a big part of our identity and to royally piss about with it is not progress. Our colours are blue-white trim with navy or maroon piping. it's tried, tested, popular and there is no need to mess with it.

Ok if the club want to change our core colours then just say so, stop pissing about every 2 seasons teasing sky and navy then reverting to our traditional colours, chose one and stick to it. That's not me being negative or old fashioned, just wanting us to go forward be it traditionally or uniquely. The shirt for me is the wankest we ever had

I'm with you on quality – glad Blue Mooner is happy with his (but beginning to think he works for City or Nike he's so overly enthusiastic), but when I had a look for myself I wasn't impressed at all with the quality. I'd be surprised if the rubber badge lasts the season, and the Nike material 'pulls' at the slightest snag.
Also I agree with your sentiments on the colour – I want the traditional kit, and this ain't it, but if they wanted to change our core kt design, then do it... but ffs stick with it and not change every season!
