New home shirt (confirmed)

Personally, I hate all the negativity when the club try and move us forward. With the attitudes of some on here, nothing would ever progress or change. Many people simply don't like change. I have a father in law who goes to the same hotel, in the same resort, year in, year out, he knows what he likes and sees no reason for change. I can't think of anything worse it would be like groundhog day. On reality it's simply different personality types. The club can't possibly begin to satisfy all those different types.

I actually think the dark blue contrast on the shirt is good, stops the shirt looking washed out and makes it stronger. I have no particular loyalty to white shorts either, its the overall aesthetic that I'm bothered about and with this shirt, white shorts wouldn't work. Instead, they have introduced white socks which I do think works with this kit.

Couple of points – firstly giving us a shit Nike template is hardly moving the club forward is it? The club have gone to great lengths to explain the traditions of the new badge... then they go and fuck up the kit like this! Our owners have been wonderful, but our club was here before them, and will be here after them, no excuses for ignoring our heritage.

Secondly, I disagree about the navy blue making the blue contrast... if anything, for me the darker sleeves and trim make the kit look 'duller' – the sleeves look air-force blue. Whereas white trim really makes the sky blue stand out for me, and the kit is on the whole neater and brighter.

Spot on.

Reads like an advert.

Just received the shirt this morning, it's my review of it, and I'm mightily impressed, is that not allowed on BM without being an employee of the club?

making our kit look like pyjamas isn't moving us forward, the kit looks terrible, in different light tones the sleeves go from navy to grey, I have felt it in the shop and it's quality is cheap and like the tat we were served up in the 2000's, I am open to inivation in all aspects of the club, but the kit is a big part of our identity and to royally piss about with it is not progress. Our colours are blue-white trim with navy or maroon piping. it's tried, tested, popular and there is no need to mess with it.

Ok if the club want to change our core colours then just say so, stop pissing about every 2 seasons teasing sky and navy then reverting to our traditional colours, chose one and stick to it. That's not me being negative or old fashioned, just wanting us to go forward be it traditionally or uniquely. The shirt for me is the wankest we ever had

Your opinion. If you're talking about the replica shirt I would agree it's much poorer quality than the 90 quid shirt but it's made with the more generous frame in mind and will probably suit a lot of the more generously sized fans. As far as I'm concerned, they're not changing the core colours just playing around with them. I like it, you don't, that's just an opinion, nothing to do with changing the core colours.

I'm with you on quality – glad Blue Mooner is happy with his (but beginning to think he works for City or Nike he's so overly enthusiastic), but when I had a look for myself I wasn't impressed at all with the quality. I'd be surprised if the rubber badge lasts the season, and the Nike material 'pulls' at the slightest snag.
Also I agree with your sentiments on the colour – I want the traditional kit, and this ain't it, but if they wanted to change our core kt design, then do it... but ffs stick with it and not change every season!

I'd be p*ssed off if the new shirt was just a continuation of what went before. I like the change in design and seeing what they come up with, that's the point of a new shirt imo

Again, it's just your opinion. I read continually on here about bringing back red and black stripes, a kit which I personally absolutely hate as I detest anything red. Sales prove that more blues feel the same as me as it doesn't sell, but you wouldn't think so reading this forum.

Rest assured, the 90 quid kit is the best quality shirt I've ever bought and I have bought every new home kit release for over 25 years since I started buying my own. The negativity is unwarranted in my view and if you want the good quality version then I would recommend people who want the latest shirt should buy that version and save for it if necessary.

The point of new shirts is to make the club/manufacturer money – simple as that!
The idea of it is not to change the kit completely... what next, sky blue and white stripes? Navy Blue and sky blue halves?

Nike must love people like you ,as you like the shit they serve us up .
You will be pleased to know the orange 3rd shirt is exactly the same template that every other Nike team is getting ,pretty radical .

Haha... it is either a piss take, or he works for the marketing department at Nike or City.

Blue Mooner is a longstanding troll mate, never has a good word to say about City fans and is always going out of his way to put blues down at any opportunity. Wouldn't be at all surprised if he was a rag.

I blocked him ages ago. The only person I've ever blocked on this forum.
